My photos from October 2023, the last time I was there.
Landscape Arch is currently the longest arch. It has an opening greater than 100 yards. It is one of the longest natural arches in the world.
➤ In blue is fallen debris from a major rockfall from September 1991. Since that time the trail underneath it has been closed.
➤ In red is a major crack that will fall sometime in the near future

Hiked cannon lands, was awesome. Spent a week out there.

They put a trailer park off they highway near there... I was astounded and mortified.

Is he looking for Kramer?

Perhaps our federal government can find some money to shore up the rock so the bride doesn’t collapse?

When that chunk of landscape arch fell - someone got a picture of it mid-air. https://www.nps.gov/media/photo/gallery.htm?id=F88C7DD5-25E3-47C1-BBB8-0201C84EAAAB

Arches was amazing. We went in 2016 and stayed all day until the sun went down. And it was 110F and I didn't hydrate enough, which was really, really stupid.
SitsLikeDog
It’s a great place for stargazing too.

We go up in the mountains 2-3 times a year to get away from the city lights and see a meteor shower. I wish everyone had the opportunity. When you see the Milky Way yourself for the first time... as a city boy, it's enough to bring tears to your eyes.

They've showed a crack, so it's allowed.

One famous one in Aruba I got to see, in 2006 and it collapsed a couple years later. Everyone could just walk across it, which is scary

Arches national park is like going to Mars without a spaceship.
ThatsJustWhatWeCallPillowTalkBaby
Been there! Arches is awesome! It is also one of the more accessible hiking parks, nothing too brutal

It’s still standing!!!! I thought landscape arch fell a few years ago. I’ll have to make it back there before it does. Btw, if you love souther Utah, check out Kodachrome state park. It’s magical. The whole grand staircase area is.

Southern Utah, and one lake/area there, is my favorite place. (Other than wherever my wife is.)
unluckyandbored
Glad they didn't take my Kodachrome away.

The home of "Brigham's Member". A pinnacle made of questionable red and orange sandstone.

I was lucky enough to camp right below the massive….. rock formation

I believe you're thinking of Wall Arch, which fell a few years ago. My pic, before it fell:

Glad you went! I went a year ago on a Vacation by Rails trip and it was stunning.....
isetprettygirlsonfire
Vacation by rails? Sounds interesting, I love taking the train
lightfoot2
https://www.vacationsbyrail.com/ They do escorted trips and to be honest they are top notch. You get a guide for the week, accomidations, amazing travel stuff and most food included. Switzerland Bernita Express/Glacier express was my fave followed by Oslo to Bergen Norway.
isetprettygirlsonfire
Thanks, I'll check it out.

My wife and I were supposed to take the bernita express last year. I got good poisoning the day before. We missed it and I was unable to reschedule it.
lightfoot2
Worth going back for. But I'm glad you got to see Switzerland in general, neat place.

Switzerland was kinda a bust. Everywhere we wanted to hike was fogged in. Like not being able to see 10 feet in front of you. We went to jungfraujoch - top of Europe. Italy was awesome! We’ve talked about going back. Just don’t know when.
