Respect none of his beliefs, but do respect the threat these reactionary beliefs pose to life, liberty, and prosperity in this country and the world.

you can trust people believing in the biblical flood and a 6000 year-old Earth to make rational policy decisions based on the best evidence.

The stupid... It burns!

It amazes me how many people actually believe the Noah’s Ark myth

Republicans have yet again chosen Trump and the most crazy out there. They want to punish the US. VOTE God dammit.

Don't vote God...

Those of you who vote or consider voting for the Republican running in your Congressional district because he or she is normal, remember they are the ones that give the crazies the power.

A true believer and very dangerous person. Anyone else looking forward to Part 2 of 'Dune'. Really hope Villeneuve goes into how religion ultimately corrupts everything.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But nobody in the whole world had s boat except for Noah tho?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hide all the fossils! Give these fuckers power and they'll destroy the evidence.

All 220 Republican Congressional Representatives voted FOR Mike.

'answers in genesis aims to encourage critical thought'...
If it were honest, it would be breathtaking stupidity
This isn't dumb.
It delivered him to one of the most powerful positions in the world by exploiting dumb people.
This is malicious and calculated.
what's the phrase... ?
"I am your retribution"
It isnt stupid, its evil.

First they say Dinosaurs are the work of Satan, now they’re saying they ARE part of Gods creation AND they were alive during Noah’s time.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey at least he believes dinos existed

That ark must have been fucking enormous

The Ark Encounter is a fucking scam. They've ripped off the city (Williamstoen), the county (Grant), and the state (KY, obviously). They have paid zero in taxes since it opened, and "promised" all kinds of money and never delivered.

"This will attract millions of tourists" the hell it will

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I recall seeing a documentary or something about it and it said their estimates on visitors was insanely miscalculated and they get actually don't get very much traffic

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A quick google says they anticipated 1.5ish million and have been getting about 1.1 million a year.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish I could recall the documentary or tv special to pull up their info, but I have no idea what it was called. The main takeaway from it was that this so-called massive tourist attraction was just a money pit not making enough money to stay operational. If that's the case, I'm sure looking for tax money makes sense

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They say 1.1 million but since they don't pay taxes, they probably are not legally required to report actual attendance.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is speculation. I'd have to see something that confirms or says otherwise.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those actual numbers are between them, Jesus and their accountant. None'a yore Heathen business!

Someone where I work has been there multiple times, and regularly wears a "faith like Noah" T-shirt. Orthodox Christianity..... 🤢

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I wonder how much that place makes on merch alone.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a hard time believing the whole Noah story when I was 6. It's been over 45 years, and that hasn't changed much. The "Ark" people are also flat earthers

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I realize you probably don't know the distinctions like most people, including Christians, but Orthodox Christianity the way you capitalized it is usually referring to Eastern Orthodoxy, a branch of Christianity. What you probably meant was fundamentalist Christianity or something.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then maybe it shouldn't have been capitalized, but they're definitely 100% for sure orthodox/Orthodox, because I've seen the stuff from their church, and it has the word "orthodox" right there in it. The person's dad started up a local church that follows this religion. I didn't want to say the full name directly here, as it would potentially localize/identify it a bit more than I wanted.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There is only one protestant denom that I'm aware of with the word "orthodox" in it, and that's Orthodox Presbyterian. But they wouldn't refer to themselves as Orthodox, just Presby/Reformed. "Small o" would be appropriate as well (such as "Those orthodox Christians are at it again.") Sorry, semantics and I just like teaching people these nuanced differences. :)

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why must they necessarily be protestant though?

Dinosaurs on Ark is equal to Magic Man in the sky on the dumbometer

Yet he is elected by the people of USA, and becomes the speaker of the house

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just let the significance of that statement sink in. The US holds itself up as a shining light for the world to follow, even with turkeys like Johnson in key positions. Unfortunately, the politicians in my country (Oz) are hell bent on following the US of that cliff.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It seems that way in the UK as well. The Tories really, really hate poor people.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This scum bag POS is INSANE. I know the Christofascist Republicans are a bunch of stupid ignorant morons but are they REALLY that stupid to believe dinosaurs were on the mythological Ark. I guess if they believe the ark was real and it had 2 OF EVERY CREATURE ON EARTH then I guess they are that stupid. Someone needs to ask that prick if he believes the earth is flat. I’m afraid of what his answer would be.

Nobody wants to talk about dinosaurs (or shirts) as much as me, but should this motherfucker not be, like, dealing with House-related shit or something?

To be fair, these were comments made back in 2021, when he was a benchwarmer chairing the Republican Study Committee and Vice Chair of the House Republican Conference. Basically, this rotating potato in a microwave has been in the House since 2015 and not held a meaningful appointment or had a significant hand in drafting policy.

For which, I for one, am very grateful.
