Working two jobs is for poor people. Polyworking is for high paying white collar jobs where they do half the work of two jobs while pretending to do two full jobs.
It's a Houthi remote controlled sea drone used to attack international shipping in the Red Sea. That particular video was published a few month ago, showing private contractors being some LSOB by not just hitting the sea drone that's attacking them, but actually being lucky enough to detonate it with small arms fire.
I have ADHD and find these easier to read. I don't have an issue with "normal" captions though and don't really have a preference, but wanted to at least point out that this style might be useful for some people.
That said, literally the only opinions about captions I ever see online are people complaining about this specific style, so maybe it's more harm than good 🤷♂️
I don't wanna fuck up my algorithm, did the cop just lose control cuz he was trying to get to the jail quickly cuz he knew methhead mcdougal was trying to break out? Or did something else happen?
Check out Jorge Sprave on YouTube. He will show you all it’s features. But seriously he’s German and they have very strict private gun ownership laws. His passion is projectile weapons that aren’t firearms, especially repeating weapons.
I was expecting the click-cart link too. It's a common tactic to have a product in the second image and then it gets a description after a few hours with a click cart link but so far maybe it's a coincidence.
They want people to work for free. They will dress up the language, but they will do anything to get people to work for as little money as possible. Its not free labor or exploitation, it's "an unpaid internship." Or a "trial run." Or a "good learning experience/opportunity." Or a way to get "exposure." Its all nonsense.
#25 Forty years ago. Barry Marshall drank a solution of H. pylori and demonstrated its effects to cause stomach ulcers as part of his research. For this he won the Nobel Prize.
This doctor cures her own breast cancer and suddenly there's a need for debate for self-experimentation?
We currently live in a world where the internet exists. She used a highly experimental procedure designed for advanced breast cancer patients on herself without having the approval of the ethics committee. She is a single success story and any desperate person on the internet might not try more established methods of treatment because she was successful, which is dangerous. Remember a few years ago idiots drank sheep dewormer to cure covid without doctor supervision?
I remember a lot of people proclaiming that they didn't care about those people, and saying much worse things than just 'I don't care', borderline criminal things. And now that one person does an experiment that will get us data to help many people, we suddenly care about her 'consent', even though she is likely the most qualified person on the planet to give informed consent to this particular treatment. Whatever, I think bodily autonomy goes both ways.
Yes this highly experimental procedure designed for advanced breast cancer is exactly as likely to be experimented with by a leyperson as sheep dewormer. There is definitely no other possible or likely reason SHE is being treated differently than HER scientific predecessor. Can't think of one. Nope.
I'm telling you this isn't a gender issue. She didn't bother getting approval from the ethics board which is REQUIRED for human or animal experimentation. I gave one example, but it's also 40 years later than his experiment, and his experiment was to prove bacteria could survive in the stomach. Hers was to prove injecting measles and the flu into her cancer would cure it. Desperate people aren't going to care that she tried normal treatments first including having a mastectomy.
Also. she's not being treated differently. Barry Marshall's experiment also raised ethical questions, and for the same reasons. He didn't get approval from the ethics board for his self experimentation. She's being treated exactly the same as he was. Or do you think the fact that she's a woman means she shouldn't be questioned the same way men would be?
minor right wing party in govt is trying to bring in a new bill that fucks with the treaty of waitangi - our founding document - in a way that will have lasting negative effects on the Maori people. Massive protests including this haka have been going on, there was like 40k people in Wellington outside the beehive (our govt building) this week protesting.
Asshole legislators in New Zealand claim that the treaty the British signed with the indigenous Maori people gives the Crown the right to rule, as opposed to establishing a power-sharing agreement. This Maori member of Parliament performed a haka as a sign of protest against the bill, while tearing it up as shown in the video. Many other MPs and people in the gallery joined her in doing so. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/nov/14/nz-parliament-maori-rights-bill-mps-debate-haka-new-zealand
Said asshole legislators also bitched to the Speaker about the haka (which included members of her party and other parties) as well as others who stood in solidarity and demanded that they be sanctioned.
I haven't kept up with their content in a while, maybe they called back to this by having someone do the Haka before a game. I'm pretty sure Kathleen was born in NZ even if she's spent most of her life in Canada.
The legislation is a ridiculous piece of political showboating being pushed by the right which will never pass. However, as much as I hate to agree with Winston Peters on anything, I don't think that an mp derailing a parliamentary session with a haka is appropriate. I support her right to protest, but not in that manner, time, and place. Downvote away, I said what I said. Anyway, here's a link to Winston's speech for anyone who's interested. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yarm0Jhe7Xc
People employed as politicians should debate with words and reason while performing their role. I have no problem with protest, and agree with her position. I take issue with her choice of protest manner and location, especially when the bill is clearly never going to pass. It was a piece of performative theater, and despite this kind of performance regularly making it into parliament, I don't believe it belongs there.
I appreciate that you took the time to offer your own unsolicited opinion in response. I was talking about a point of policy; protest of that nature should not take place while she is performing the role she is paid to perform, a role in which certain norms of behahavior are expected. Whether she cares about my opinion doesn't matter, but open discussion about the acceptable time and place for that form of protest, and whether it was appropriate given the context, is important. I'm from NZ :)
