"Well Trump is not a socialist, so it is different" -- the poorly educated

and the average 2024 statie is dumber, and better indoctrinated than the average 1939 German

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ooof. One. If not being trump is all biden has. Ehhhhh. The left had much more momentum with a common enemy. I voted biden under the pretext of “holding him accountable.” We haven’t. We. Have. Not.

Jesus, could you be any more obviously a Russian troll? No one said anything about Biden. For someone who likes to flap his mouth and make meaningless noises about not voting for the lesser evil, you sure do jump right to it being a two-party system. Anyway.... whataboutism and Begging the Question are your two logical fallacies in this post.

There’s like six Trumpers on Imgur. The rest of us are fighting like hell to save this thing. Use your efforts elsewhere.

Dear Germany. Any tips on how to make him kill himself?

Get Canada to fire bomb mar-a-loco while an army of mexicans is rapidly advancing towards it.

Dear Germans, go ahead and support a genocidal state because you have a guilt complex.

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 22

It takes some time between realizing genocidal and passionate states men using weapons at there disposal to overcome people they dispose. It's called Blitzkrieg or "lighting war"

WE KNOW… well some of us know…

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's from 2016 and sadly still relevant.

You might want to take your own advice, Germany

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 16

You got a time machine, or...?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I believe they're referring to Germany's current fash party getting uppity, as is the case in a lot of countries

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Indeed I am referring to that

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

When it comes to fascism and imprisoning people for speaking out, Germany shouldn't be the one delivering this message. You're currently jailing anti-Zionist Jews for anti-Semitism and defending genocide at the ICJ. It's clear you still haven't confronted your own authoritarian tendencies either.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

it's from 2016.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When he gets voted in and starts kicking the Jews out "his words" can I seek asylum in Germany?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just sayin. We're going through a rough spell.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

imagine a future where germany france and gb land on some coast in america for a reverse d-day to get rid of an imperialistic and nationalistic dictator.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I won't vote for Biden, I will vote against Trump. Someday I would very much like to vote "for" someone though.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A) they don't register this type of criticism. They're entrained to take things literally. B) If the rest of the world thinks something is a good idea, they will reject it, because they know better and best, 'cause they're number one.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh but goodness knows you can't say fuck in a meme.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The only difference is he doesn't have half the brain that Hitler had, after he put a bullet through it that is

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Biden doesn't have a loud voice

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

What bad bait.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Upvoted in hopes some day people will be free to vote for who best represents them. Getting rid of First Past the Post voting (the electoral system most states use) will allow people to freely vote 3rd party if they wish with no chance for a spoiler effect. This would introduce competition into the electoral process, improving the quality of candidates available for everyone. Plus it would encourage more people to vote and be involved in politics. Peace yall

We should be able to vote for who best represents us while counting our vote against those we don't want in office. We can do this one state at a time. Even yours!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Good thing they censored the word "fuck." I wouldn't want anybody to get offended by how fucking intense that expletive intensifier makes the point./ s

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pssssst. Next time direct your message to the people actually voting for him, Republicans. Don't pretend like we all want this. Republicans don't equal all Americans.

2 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 10

ya and... if any of them repugnicans actually know history, of which you speak of, they see those as positive selling points.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s all the republicans and all the people who don’t vote and those who vote for the bad guy because « things need to change/both sides »

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If we really didn't want this, he wouldn't have made it into office the first time.

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 6

Most Americans didn’t want him then. Unfortunately our election system gives republicans the chance to win while still losing the popular vote.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Also don't discount the voter suppression and gerrymandering in red states

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Then why have the rest of the Americans not curbstomped these Republicans yet?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Because most haven't gotten on board with the realization there's only one way to defeat fascists.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You'd imagine that 1940-1945 would've been a clear wakeup call but I guess it's true what they say, we're all doomed to forget history and so repeat it. Or something.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They’re not even real Americans anymore. They’ve betrayed our institutions of Democracy and our Constitution. All for an Orange Turd of a man that overtly and by example gives them permission to be their worst without shame.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

"They’re not even real Americans anymore." This is why you fail to deal with the issues caused by them. They are "real Americans", just like the Nazis were real human beings. You're not seeing them or your country as it actually is, and you're doing something your fellow Americans do, the stupid "Its not my fault, its not my responsibility, its the other [not real Americans]". You're being your worst without shame, just like them.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

They rely on people like you to obfuscate the issue and thrive in the shadows you provide. Americans don’t violently attack their Capital to stop the peaceful transfer of power, they don’t destabilize their Democracy, and for damn sure they don’t desecrate their Constitution! Shame on you Lord Chamberlain!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Saying "you aren't a real American" because they go against American values is not the same as "these queers shouldn't have the same rights as us normal people and I should be able to shoot these illegals if they come onto my property". Not. The. Same. Not even close.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I would argue, that this should aim to the 80+ mio people, who haven't voted the last time. as a rule of thumb: if you don't vote, you vote for the extremists.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Antld trumpers don't equal all Republicans.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 17

Trump is a symptom, the GQP has been moving this way for a long ass time.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If a republican votes for magas, guess what... if you vote for Trump simply because he's a republican... guess what... if you're "ok" with looking past trumps wrongdoings because of .... guess what. You sit at a table worth nazis. You're no better than the nazis.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

What. I just said not all Republicans are, or vote for magas.

Trump is a shit stain, and I know a ton of Republicans that have never supported him, nor looked past his wrongdoings.

You don't get to make gross generalizations, just like op doesn't get to make gross generalizations.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 12

If a republican voted and still votes for trump or his supporters. Guess what... no different than a maga.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

You're so blinded by rage you're not reading what I said. I'm talking about people who have never voted for nor supported Trump.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

"I know a ton of Republicans that don't support him" that's fucking hysterical. Now tell me in all honesty that all those people didn't still vote for him....

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

There’s a word missing.

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I don’t think that was the word.

This is a great movie.

Yes. Easily in my top 5. I need to go watch it again.

Putin's plan is working

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

At least I’ve seen hundreds of thousands of people demonstrating against these fuckers with demonstrations in every single German city, even in places where the wingnuts dominate the politic scene abd demonstrators have to fear violent retribution. I see nothing of the sort in the US, and frankly: i’m worried.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

And not only in big cities, also in really small towns hundreds of people are going on the streets to demnonstrate against the afd. I hope that will last a bit.

I mean, we are currently in the process of banning that particular political party for being unconstitutional. What y'all doing?

Electing Geert Wilders, hbu?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I believe it when I see it...

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is not meant as whataboutism. I care for Germany much more than the US, so was honestly saying, keep an eye on them, even once they are banned as a party. As far as what I have done, I have voted in every major and many minor election, for the not insane side, since before the Berlin Wall came down.

2 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 5

Well good on you

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Over here we are talking about banning parts of the constitution for being untrumpstatutional. /s

2 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Well, Germany also tried banning the NPD, multiple times over the last 23 years, but that was shut down every time because it's (sadly) considered unconstitutional in a democracy. Honest question, what makes you think we'd be able to get rid of the AfD and they won't just use the ruling in favor of the NPD as a precedent to continue on with their bullshit?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I mean, where is the NPD now as power factor in german politics?
In the process of bringing to light why it should be banned, it was seen as what it is in the eyes of the public and lost its popularity.
One can only hope, that this should be enough to also contain similar parties (as an Austrian: *cough* FPÖ), but the GOP in the US and the 2024 election is now really scary.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

In the first attempt of a ban the main issue was that too many of the parties leaders were also government informants. So it's not that party bans in general are unconstitutional.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Afaik the reason wasn't about "being considered unconstitutional" but "being to small to have a political impact". This clearly isn't the case with the AfD

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, my bad. Reading into it more so I don't spread more misinformation, and yes, the most recent attempt being shut down used the reasoning you cited. Some previous reasons for not shutting it down are different and honestly just leave me dumbfounded https://imgur.com/y7OVKAM

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Quite honestly sounds like a great way to destroy a party from the inside. Banning a party always comes with the problem of people just doubling down with a "now more than ever" attitude. But if you say you have a bunch of undercover agents in high ranks of that party you spread distrust inside it and it fizzles out because the trust is gone, even if their never were any actual undercover agents.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

While they could not ban the NPD (because of various technicalities), they did defund it. Funding of polltical parties works differently here. While there are still membership fees and "donations", they are also relying on state funds. Depending on election results parties get money from the state, which on a glance makes roughly 30% of the parties income. If your party is unconstitutional you can bar the party from these payments. Which is a way lower bar than banning it. 1/2

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Bar to ban a party is quite high (which is good).

I stumbled over an interesting Page listing the public income and expenses of all represented german parties: https://www.bundestag.de/parlament/praesidium/parteienfinanzierung/rechenschaftsberichte/rechenschaftsberichte-202446
