This might die in usersub, but I have nobody else to tell and I am extremely happy for it!

About to try the patch since vaping didn't work. Sucks when all your friends are chain smokers

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't quit quitting!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's fantastic, @OP! You got through the hardest part! I quit about 8 years ago. You should treat yourself with some of the $$ you saved!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you! I've been saving that money since I quit, and plan on doing something around this time next year ????

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I read that as Elven years and was wondering how long that was in people years.. I am not smart.. but congrats OP :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is perfect.. and deserved

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Was the same for me 11 years of almost 2 packs a day and now it has been a year and 4 months without :) keep it up you can do it!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Atta boy! I'm probably a week ahead of you, so if you want I can tell you what's in your future. So far it's hate towards anyone smoking

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

More power to you!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@op It's gets so much easier!!! I'm 3 years cigarette free after 18 years smoking. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

7 years ago for me. Keep it up it can be done.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congratulations! I know how hard this is, in trying to quit currently! Good luck on the road ahead.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kudos on 30 days! Smoked 1.5 pks a day for 30 yrs. On day 8 w/o now. Yeah, chewing on everything like a bored pup, but I'm going to do it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

@OP You can do it, Groovy. Stay strong you fucking unknown person!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't give a fuck. Congratulations anyway

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Get back to us after a couple of years (or more) Knew a guy who quit for three years and started up again-" Just one or two puffs....."

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now take the money you would have spent buying a pack and put it aside. My buddy paid for a mexico trip in a year after he and his wife quit

8 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 0

Great idea

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, you can save some Money without a wifey :p

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Imagine quitting your cell phone's data plan.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I started doing that the day after I quit, it's a great idea and I can't wait to see what I have a year from now!

8 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

Keep in mind that smoking is one of the harder addictions to kick, so be kind to yourself if you relapse.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

Exactly. It took me a long time to finally get over smoking. But during then I ended up having a pack here and there.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Drinking, work/life stress or nervousness were the hardest times. If you can not smoke during those times then you're fine!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Great advice. "Fail quickly"- don't get hung up on your nicotiney indiscretions. Forgive yourself immediately and get back on track.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This is awesome sauce.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

GO YOU! I'M IN THE SAME BOAT! FEELS AHHHHMAZINGGGGGGGG.@OP

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm on week 4 myself! Day 3 kicked my butt, but after that it wasn't that bad. Congratulations! I smoked for at least 12 years. Crazy!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good for you @OP. Today it's one week for me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It gets easier. I used to smoke for six years. You get to the point where you are grossed out by the thought of it. God speed amigo.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At least YOU won't die in usersub. Seriously, though... +1, keep up the good work!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good for you, OP! And don't feel bad if you fall off the bandwagon now and then. Quitting is long-term, just keep moving towards that goal.

8 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 8

Former smoker here that totally agrees with this statement.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nicotine has been #1 hardest thing for me to drop. 10 minutes of willpower is all it takes to break a craving. Good vibes to you guys

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Thanks, I appreciate the support!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Current smoker here and it is exactly this sentiment via family that made it ok in my mind when I fell off the bandwagon. DON'T FALL OFF OP

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yay! Agree. Saying it's ok to fail is hiding a Get Out of Jail Free card. Commit 100% to your success. I quit 21 years ago. Never fell off.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Only someone who's done it know how hard it is. And stop smoking was the hardest thing I've ever done.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Idk how to edit on mobile, but thank all of you for the support!! It means a lot you are all beautiful!

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

this is the single best piece of advice you will receive on this matter: read up about rat park: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_Park

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

then when you crave a cigarette, after a meal, when you're drinking, etc... just imagine a little cig monster in your head that gets weaker

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

every time you don't smoke and stronger when you do. give him a lame name and mock him when you get a craving. and instead of thinking 3/4

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"i can't allow myself a cigarette" think "i am not a smoker" not "i don't smoke anymore" just "I am not a smoker"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See, me I'm still a smoker, but I don't smoke. It's been 6 years and I also quit doing most things I did when I smoked. But I still feel it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm about 1 hour clean myself good luck

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

one hour is better than 30 min...it's a slow battle but winnable

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good job! I'm getting close to a year myself. Congratulations!

8 years ago | Likes 176 Dislikes 0

Me too, and it's thanks to a comment I saw in this place.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

16 years on January 11. Thank you prescription Zyban.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 months here and feel so much better

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Going from Dec 31 2016 to Jan 1 2017, won't count as a year, sorry

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I still smoke, but quitting is a wonderful thing to do for yourself. Grats to you both. er, all!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey me too! Go us :)

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Holy... It's actually been 7.5 years for me! It gets easier, you just need a 6-8 month stubborn streak and you're an ex-smoker.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

July 14th 2008

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

December 23 will be one year for me!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just passed the 2 year mark myself. It gets easier with time!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

6 months here

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Awesome keep up the good work!

8 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

that is the happiest gif I have ever seen

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ive smoked since i was 13. Im 24 now. I switched to a nice vape to quit cigs. Quiting my vape next. I paid too much for it tho so ill use 1/

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

2/ it to smoke liquid gold, wich is a hemp based cannibis Oil that is completelly legal and thc free. Liquid gold helped me quit marijuana.

It theoretically can be, but if hemp really was involved in production, it probably isn't, at least on a federal level.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Congrats. 3.5 years yesterday for me. I was a 20 yr, 2.5 PAD smoker.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That would've cost you like $40 a day here in Aus, fuuuark

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At the time, it was "only" about $15US per day... Still WAY too much.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Remember: NEVER pick another cig up. Just one and you will be back smoking. Know it from experience. It takes just one.

8 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 5

So true

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This is the approach I had to take. Never touch another one. I just hit one year a month ago.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My grandma had stopped for 20 years. Picked one up one night and was back like she never stopped.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

My father did the same thing. Quit for 3 years and had one on a dare. Lung cancer was not kind to him.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's a sad dare that someone made.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

this is what keeps me going strong. I've learned I can't just have1 at a party while drinking and not again. I'm at 4 months on 12/26

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and quit for 3 months earlier this year but smoked maybe like 4 times a week...it's still something and an unwasted effort.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

still 7 months of 2016...over half a year. after 11 years of smoking...yay. go me

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ik pushing vaping is annoying, but truly, if you have trouble dropping cigs, vaping is a great way to go. Haven't smoked since I switched.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I hated the Blu pens and went back to cigs. But I went back and looked into quality vape pens and I'm just amazed. It's a solid alternative.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

From what I've noticed, V2 has a few tobacco inspired flavors that do an incredible job at recreating the taste/throat hit of cigs. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I smoked 3 packs a day for 5 years, then quit almost effortlessly with e-cigs.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice!! Congrats!!! Yeah, it's amazing what they've been able to produce. Nice pulls, solid feeling, good clouds, tasty juice. Awesome.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not that I suggest it, but that's not everybody. I still smoke when I get drunk, but haven't touched one sober in 2 years. Pack-a-day then.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Im just like you....exact...but it IS different for everyone...what showed me a difference was not smoking a year. Then i lit up and choked

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just like everybody's friends uncle who smoked 2 packs a day and was lucky enough to never get cancer, that's a very uncommon example

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

and fact is the vast majority of people who have just one end up smoking again. So not helpful.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I get it. I was that way other times I quit. This one just stuck, I guess. I said I don't reccomend it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that's bullshit and i swear that makes people jump off the wagon after hitting a bump. if u find yourself smoking again just remember 2 stop

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Truth...its like telling a kid dont do this...they want to...once i allowed it on occasions..i steadily declined....i never smoke now.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i think it's almost more "well i fucked up and smoked so i might as well just smoke a bunch now because i can obviously never quit"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes....its both...but I agree...once you fall off and the wagon gets ahead youre like....welp this is life now..same way with dieting.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're like Oh no i ate bad .. might as well give up now.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

good job by the way, i quit too

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congrats to you, love....keep it up.
