*literally* the day before the SOTU senate democrats blocked a republican bill that would have banned trans athletes. it took *less than a day* after them actually doing something for you all to forget and whine about how they're not doing anything. maybe the problem isn't actually democrats but you spreading fascist propaganda that democrats aren't doing anything

Imagine you have a terrible accident and are bleeding profusely. You ask your friend to call an ambulance, and instead they hand you a bandaid and say "Why are you so ungrateful for all the help I'm giving you?" and then stand there watching as you continue to bleed out.
Trans rights are very important, but in this moment this feels like performative resistance, not a real disruption of the ongoing dismantling of our democracy.

Then call reps from another state that you feel aren't doing anything and yell at them.
Infighting and yelling about inactive bureaucrats being inactive bureaucrats is what got us into this position in the first place.
The frustration is valid, but direct your anger at the person that hit you, not the well intentioned friend that isn't doing enough to help.

The person who made me bleed doesn't care about my complaints, no matter how loud they are. And the 'well intentioned friend that isn't doing enough to help' isn't really a friend if they are choosing not to help.
I don't mean that in a defeatist way. We need to make the Democrats understand that the only way they keep their jobs is if they actually lead the resistance. If they don't, they will be pushed aside by either the rising fascists or the rising revolution.

okay so just to be clear, you think democrats blocking an actual bill in the senate that would have criminalized being transgender is "handing you a bandaid" and you also think pointlessly performatively yelling at the assholes in front of a television camera is "actually calling an ambulance". those are your priorities. you think grandstanding for cameras is more important than stopping evil bills from passing. you need to log off because social media has clearly destroyed your brain.

I don't know, but just sitting on the sidelines getting steamrolled isn't working. They better get creative and more vocal. Maybe get the community involved. Unification in all states and organize huge protests. There's some stuff they could be doing more of that's for sure.
