There is, a big red button in the middle of the panel, but afaik details are vague but it went something like: The operator had manually overridden the brakes and tried to force a restart on primary power after a voltage drop caused an automatic e-stop, finally couldn't work out how to undo the brake override when it started to rollback. (they should have switched to the diesel generator power)

#1 Nothing wrong with this. There is a savy businessman who could save on maintenance cost, because it is not regulated or he bought the regulator a nice fishing trip. SInce 'capitalism' doesn't acutally care about how economics works "external effects" do not exist.
The net gain in wealth was increased for everybody and the people will thank the job creator after profits have trickled down. /S

you understand it's gravity acting on the people in the chairs, which move them. There is in operation, which you could "stop".
An operating break would be more prudent.

The "Darwin Awards" are an internet tradition, awarded to people for taking themselves out of the genepool through acts of sheer stupidity. While trying to hit whatever it was in the water, the rifle discharged and appears to have hit him directly in the jibblies. If he just shot off his balls, he has effectively removed himself from the gene pool via his own stupidity, thus earning a Darwin Award.
