That was my first thought. Get rid of the student loans and do everything possible to fuck up ICE from within. Generally true when it comes to dropping out. They do have loan forgiveness opportunities though as well as a variety of additional benefits (much more than ICE is offering) but the point stands that they are imitating recruitment strategies (speaking as an Army vet that landed a job at the VA after)

Partially true. PSLF is still being processed but IDR forgiveness has been put on hold so they can hit borrowers with tax bombs when the tax-free deadline expires at the end of 2025. Really fucked up.

I thought the current loan issue is in regards to the government not discharging loans through income based repayment plans during the litigation hold when they should have. A hasty search doesn't show major concern about TLF (but i would happily be proven wrong). Also, the post does frame it as if TLF and PSLF aren't already things. Or at the least, it is knowingly ignoring existing loan forgiveness to make it sound worse that ICE would get it. Which ICE shouldn't, to clarify.
