Explain for me please?

Every kithen is a small kitchen when you put a basketball hoop in it.

Because then you have a kitchen-net.

julia child was also remarkably tall, and had her kitchen built with taller countertops to reduce back strain.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

plus that shit's just tiny as hell.

5 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

This is why you get your own place so you can design the kitchen for YOU. Friend of mine bought a house where the kitchen table was around 65 cm tall. Seems the former person was around midget level size and just ensured the kitchen worked for them. Friend obviously ripped it down and made it for him and his wife since it wasn't useful for an almost 2 meter tall person

There's a video floating around of a tall guy who has a midget-sized mom and the kitchen/home is built around her. In the video, he brings over a midget-sized friend who is just ecstatic to find that the kitchen and the living room furniture are all perfectly suited to his height.

I'd love to see this video.

The thing that really gives away how tiny this kitchen is is the folding chair.

5 months ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

It's no banana, but it does in a pinch

5 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Does anyone else become unreasonably upset when someone gets in your way while cooking?

5 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

I wouldn't say "unreasonably" upset, but my partner does stand kind of right in my personal space when I'm working in the kitchen. When it actually gets on my nerves I simply pick her up and put her down 3 feet further away.

I'm starting to think she does it on purpose because she likes getting picked up...

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's not unreasonable at all. Stay out of the kitchen if I'm busy in there. I don't go in faffing around while you cook, offer me the same.

5 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I am very busy with sharp knives and hot fire. No, I don't care that you think you need a small plate for your snack and no you can wash your hands in the bathroom I swear to all the gods.

5 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

May I ask how many bananas tall you are ?

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am approximately two standard ar15s tall, standard everything.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

You know, for a second I thought that folding chair was a step stool, and I was SO ready to make a joke...
But hey at least you get extra storage space on top of the cupboards.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

RE: The last part:
I am using the top of the cupboards for ages (6'9 here). Up to the day my roommate in the dorm complained ;)
Now that I live on my own again its free real estate again!

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

6'9"? Like I knew the joke was you're tall, but hot damn!
GIRL.
I have opinions.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am not the one from the photo. And I am not a girl (sorry).
;)

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ahhhh I interpreted this as a comment from OP based on the notification and not paying attention.
Even so. Dude you are WILDLY tall. Human society must be complex to navigate at times.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn't realise how tall you were

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is the big woman still here

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

sadly no. i'm in norway again.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dont envy your back

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My back appreciates the daily yoga I do, which I do to help my back

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but you can reach that stuff on top of the cabinets.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is me, your counter may actually be slightly higher in your thigh. 😅 The world is built for hobbits istfg

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This doesn't answer the most important question: what're you making?

5 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

I was making pytt i panne, with random ingredients in my austrian boyfriends fridge.

5 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Congratulations on upgrading from the Trump supporting Texan. That said, if your Austrian boyfriend wants to pursue painting as a career, please support him completely.

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

my friend from Texas was never a boyfriend.

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Never said he was. But a Trump supporter nonetheless, so basically a piece of shit human being. How do I know? I live among them. I won't let them in my house. I hope you know better now as well.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cooking in a fridge sounds like a pain.

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Username accurate.

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

hah, no i mean the ingredients was in the fridge, i took them out to cook with them

5 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Wait wait wait, is that a 10 pack of eggs? wtf?

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How tall are you? As a 5'7" dude, I don't know how many times I've hurt my shoulders reaching for stuff on the top shelves of places. That doesn't seem to stop me from trying to get the stuff without standing on a stool though.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1.90meter, so omething like 6.2 in the American system

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, you'd totally tower over me. How tall is your boyfriend?

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

he's around 1.76 i think

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's like slightly taller than me. I imagine you all get a bunch of stares and references of "snu snu" and him "going up on you".

Way back in the day, I briefly knew a girl who was about 6'5". She ended up becoming a runway model. A big reason why so many runway models are really tall and really thin is because their bodies make good "living hangers". Their height allows the design to be longer, and their thinness prevents the design from bunching up anywhere while they are on the catwalk.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i heard a few guys tell me they wanna climb me, yes :P and the snusnu and got meme man

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That just looks like a tiny kitchen

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is. But I am also tall

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Subway tiles are typically 2"x4"
34 tiles gives us 5'6.5" grout lines are typically 1/16th of an inch which matches up with this picture that gives us a pinch over 2" so lets say 5 foot 9 inches.

5'10" if we are generous on the tiles being a few feet back and therefore perspective shifted.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Oh I wish I was that. But last time I checked my height. During a medical checkup 2 years ago. I was 1.90meter

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm a tall girl but based on where your head is relative to those cupboards you're 6'7" (200cm)?

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

nope. i'm shorter than that. i'm 1.90m so uuuuh, 6.2 in the American system?

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damn. You be tall.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

okay, that is a kitchen for dwarves.

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They go by Austrian these days

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So the kitchen siz changes, but the only consistent factor is you.

Does that make you...Plank's Constant?

5 months ago | Likes 235 Dislikes 3

yes, yes it does

5 months ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 1

I tell my family that if I had the money to customize my kitchen the counter would be much taller. I hate cooking big meals because I have to hunch over the counter.

I dunno why you're getting downvoted, that was Gödel.

5 months ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

People hate modern physics? Idk.

5 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I don't see the downvotes. This is probably an orientation-dependent variable.

5 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Was negative 1 when I reversed it, and responded. Downvote brigade downvotes.

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How frustrated do you feel at the height of standard kitchen cooktops?

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

very

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I feel that, and it's the cause of SO much back pain

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Low kitchen counters are such a pain in the back for those who aren't vertically challenged, my dream is to one day have a setup I picked myself so I can get the right height on them.

5 months ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

I am 6'3" and my Girlfriend when i was student 5'10". We got a cheap used Kitchen for the standard 5'7" Person. I bought a thick Kitchen Top with 8cm (3.1 inch) height a little wider then the old Kitchen and simply clued it with Silicon on the old Kitchen Tops, only had to redo the Hole for the Sink. Best Investment of 100 Bucks (+80 for the used Kitchen) and 2 hours work ever. Even when smaller friends came around all were happy for the lifted Tops.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice! One thing I did as a student was I bought a bar cabinet/counter (since they're usually taller), which had its own modestly small countertop and I just used that as my kitchen counter for all cutting etc. Most comfortable I've ever been cutting stuff. Sadly I didn't repeat that at later places, instead often opting to just sit down at the dining table to cut stuff. Once I have my own place instead of renting I'll definitely do something to raise the counters, I'll keep your trick in mind.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those of us that are vertically challenged the other direction have the same issue in reverse. The country's are too high and we get shoulder, neck, & back strain. Welcome to the club.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

See you think that. Then you marry a short cute girl and you build the kitchen so she can reach things and you have the same problem again.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Our kitchen was built for a 5' woman. We can redo the whole thing for about 20 grand, or we can do what we do, which is have some large 2 inch deep cutting boards where we work. Washing up is a pain, though, bent over the sink.

get a stool

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Julia Child (6’ 2”) famously did that after making it big.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i built my own bed legs, to finally get a bed high enough. I may just end up learning how to make my own tables to finally be able to eat dinner at my own height

5 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

As a fellow human of normal human size, I have built special raised feet for some tables and furniture. Nowadays, though, I keep a little paper with measurements of the space needed from floor to bottom of a table+bottom to surface so I know what to look for. I also have chair seat height+chair back height. When I had to reinstall toilets, I made sure to get special, "tall" toilets. Someday when I remodel my bathroom, I'll make sure the tub is of a normal human size and depth too.

It gets so much worse. At least it has for me. Before my 40s low chairs could be annoying. Now they're excruciating for any type of long period. Almost no chair is high enough for me. Everything is made for someone a foot shorter.

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

build your own chair! :D

So is my wife!

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey! A lot of us do! My girlfriend is 5'10.

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Lots of men likes tall women, tho. I had quite a few exes who loved having a gf taller than them .

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I have not at all had that experience. Maybe one day...

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ex is 6'2", wife 5'11.5" and particular about that decimal.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I refuse to relent the 10 in my 5'10 as I age and compress 😂😂
