You can absolutely be a SW fan and not be into the whole "hello there" thing. It's from the prequels, which I'll admit are better than the sequels, but.... There's a reason they were universally dissed by fans at the time, especially the first one. The kids from that era hadn't grown up by now, but that doesn't change things for the older fans.
Lucas is just not as good a writer as people think. Up to the Prequels Force healing was a basic skill for Jedi knights in every Star wars product of the franchise, including the Pen&Paper RPG.
They just messed up a well thought out system in the Prequels and literally eviscerated it once Disney took over.
Ah yes. Because it's so much better that Rey spontaneously figured out she could Force Heal, with no training, and that the first time she used it was on a giant snake guarding a knife that she just happened to need, and said snake wasn't sentient but maybe was sentient, and gave up the knife once it was healed, so she could go to a whole different planet and match the knife to the destroyed Death Star, which somehow hadn't eroded AT ALL despite lying in a violent ocean.
#24 I still remember the gasp from the audience when he said “young Skywalker” in that scene.
Since I had read a ton of EU books by that time, I knew Palpatine was the Emperor’s name, so it was just a nice bit of confirmation for me… of course, it was also the same actor, so that helped.
There are a couple articles about it and some reddit posts, but I just spent a little over half an hour listening to them back to back, and at the same time as each other, I read the sheet music for both.
I just don't see any overlapping themes. if there is some subtle nod, its VERY subtle.
It's apparently from a guy named Neil Henry at an outfit called Old Made New, but it seems their only info is on a facebook group, so I can't really see much more than that.
I liked season 3, but I feel the show has kind of done all it can. Maybe I'm wrong, but the Mandalorians have Mandalore again, and I'm not sure what else can happen with Grogu and Din.
Not all of them, but many. Clone Wars, Rebels, and Bad Batch was excellent. Mandalorian was fantastic. Boba Fett was pretty good, but had quite a few things I didn't care for. Obi-wan felt unnecessary, it added nothing to the plot, and I felt no suspense since I know both Kenobi and Vader live to fight in the original trilogy. Asohka was good, I loved that they got the voice of Thrawn to play him. Acolyte felt uninspired. Skeleton Crew was just awful.
I definitely feel like we still only scratched the surface on Mandalorian lore. They added to the Clone Wars showed, but didn't reveal anything major, beyond Din being part of the Deathwatch
#44 The interesting thing about these is that in both situations he was following a sensation/feeling from The Force. But, in the 2nd one, he did not follow the force.
If so, was Luke ignoring the Force when he raised his lightsaber or when he renounced to strike Ben? And which side of the Force was it? Luke looked possessed.
Here's what we know...the entire bloodline of Skywalkers has strong connections to the Force and is tempted by the Dark side.
With his father, Luke sensed the good and was prepared to give his life to bring it out. With his nephew, he could sense the pull of the Dark side and refused to take the boy's life to stop it. And, in that moment of hesitation, pushed him further to the dark side. Which could have been a ploy of the Dark side in the first place.

Andor was the best thing the Star Wars franchise ever made, by aa country mile.

#21 Hicks? What is this? It might be cosplay of Flash Gordon. She resembles Sigourney as much as she does Melody Anderson.

#53 not everyone could force-heal, it was pretty specialized & Anakin DEFINITELY wasn't on that part of the chill spectrum

Did he license that?

Tbf, with odo, you could stick it absolutely anywhere.

#44 Mark Hammel's idea was that Luke had a kid, but the kid died due to an unattended light saber accident.
Which would have been way better and made much more sense.
TooSoonOldTooLateSmart
Who da momma?

Hamill.
FetteredJuvenescence
Yeah, I'd have liked that way better than turning Luke into a child-killer.

#51 "All of this"? Pretty sure Palpatine would have found another stooge to be his enforcer.
FetteredJuvenescence
Better argument: All of this could have been avoided if the Republic had had the balls to eradicate slavery.

In fact, he had a whole inquisitorius and Dooku, and Maul, and Ventress and and and and...

The trailer doesn't even look all that impressive. It looks like it is going to be a 2-hour long version of one of the episodes from the show.
battery1979
It looks like Muppet Star Wars. I know Star Wars already has Muppets, but this is idk, more blatant I guess.
eion85
Yeah. It does seem like a cash grab while keeping the lower TV production budget.
Is Pedro even going to be in the suit? Or just doing ADR for a stunt guy.
LincLoud
I liked season 3, but I feel the show has kind of done all it can. Maybe I'm wrong, but the Mandalorians have Mandalore again, and I'm not sure what else can happen with Grogu and Din.
eion85
Maybe they have enough content for a 2 hour swan song movie.
Who knows.
Overall the TV shows are doing a far better job of post ROTJ content than the sequel movies, but that's not a high bar to clear.
LincLoud

Would’ve been okay with me if the entire show was just about Mando hunting down different bounties all across the galaxy…

Something, something, no attachments.
Millstone85
In both but not the second? I am sorry but I can not make sense of what you wrote.
Dxoh
I think they mean that Luke felt the force's influence in both cases, but only followed the feeling in the former, and ignored it in the latter.
southflhitnrun
Yes!
