You all have done more for me than you will ever know. I never thought it would come to this. See you in October.

I’m just now figuring out it’s the whole month of September, not just September first. Hope I can remember my discord credentials

See you on 3nd.pics">s3nd.pics imgcat.io and Bluesky! (@op maybe add where you'll be to your post)
r>Starts 9/2 to 10/2 for me. I'll be on 9/1 for fiftyfifty.one updates from around the country. Many Imgur members are active offline. They do enough things to make a difference in this world that enough will get unforeseeablely lucky. That's how fascism has always fallen so far. They use Imgur for that in part. What is happening on Imgur right now is important. 50501 is more important.

Still don't know what the complaints are

Site moderation that breaks its own rules, broken features, advertisements that break community rules, firing known humans and replacing them with AI causing a breakdown in communications. Ultimately summed up as 'the site used to be better and recent decisions made things worse'.
Given that constant complaints using the normal methods resulted in either nothing or being brushed off it boiled over into a visible site wide protest when a major feature (notifications) broke and remained broken.

There are other things that caused grievance, like certain worldwide regions having their posts suspiciously blocked (eg. Ukraine, Hong Kong) /gallery/ukrainian-here-yes-imgur-limited-interactions-on-platform-ukraine-DJQC8CA . However the whole protest was less organized and more just a bunch of people jumping on the bandwagon to blow off steam about problems. Still this post probably mentions the most things. https://imgur.com/gallery/just-to-increase-awareness-JpRvfo3

I think their main complaint is that the site that they don’t give any money to nor does the site charge anything to host their images and shitposts, should be even more free.

Yep. I tried Reddit and it was awful. Can only upload one pic, too many rules and you get banned because you accidentally break a stupid rule like no social media..can't appeal it and they ban you from multiple other subs you haven't even gone on

Reddit has a place. It is no Imgur.

Been trying Reddit too. It just doesn't scratch the same itch...

The mods are terrible..nd it doesn't feel like a safe place for me

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The mods are based on what subreddit you are at. It’s pretty hard community driven.

Ive been OOTL for a while, whats going on?

new owners fucked up hard; moderation, site functionality, etc. users are leaving for september in protest, after about a week or so of

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

spamming "fuck you business daddy" memes and bannable content in protest. the gif made it to FP multiple times, among other shockers.

So in other words, nothing. All the vanity posters and meme dumpers are already back as though there was no interruption. "Protesting" by leaving for a month will be functionally dissimilar and indistinguishable from not leaving at all, so 85% of everyone claiming to do so will be back browsing within the next week.

fuck you. i answered your question then you get all prickly and defensive with me simply for giving you what you asked for? talk about thankless douchebags.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

FYI, that was not me (original op for this question). Thank you for informing me.

Yeah. Those people might be gone for two or three days at the most. But they'll be back eventually. Nothing will change because nothing ever changes.
