I wish they would stop rubbing all this winning in our face.

“But we are getting more money for rural people”.
No- it doesn’t work like that….at all. Medicare reimbursement is the only guarantee most critical access hospitals (rural hospitals) have for funding. AND Medicare prices is less than 10% of most operations budgets for these hospitals- the rest comes from grants (been cut) and insurance network agreements (way less$$) Medicaid is a state funded and it is a fraction of Medicare pays

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Medicaid is federally funded. States administer it. States can also make some of their own rules, which is often unfortunate in red states.

Now would be a fantastic time to get into the funeral business.

Appropriate for the situation, time & place. Carry on!

The government of Nebraska asked trump for money. All the immigrant farm laborers left and now there is no one to pick the harvest. Nebraska exports soybeans to China. They have no one to harvest the soybeans. Farmers are out all the money spent on planting. So of course they’ll be bailed out with our tax dollars. Nebraska voted for this.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yep! Also, China cancelled a very large order to purchase Nebraska soybeans. So even if workers returned, farmers are still screwed.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Congratulations to rural republicans! Don't forget to blame Biden!

The beginning of the end.

It's still the beginning. We aren't even a year in and he has done this much damage by signing every scrap of paper put in front of him by the Heritage Foundation.

I can’t wait for the old republicans to be crying for Medicaid

Because Americans are cowards who only kill children.

Arming to fight a corrupt government was just lip service. They were actually arming to fight a race war, not a tyrannical government.

Good news, according to the CDC, we don't need hospitals because it was big pharma making us sick all along. We can finally be healthy again

The richest country in the world and hospitals can't afford to stay open. Make it make sense.

And you know that those that need that hospital mostly voted for Trump and when this impacts them they'll blame it on Democrats

I was going to apply for Medicaid (no other insurance, figured I might as well), but now I'm wondering if I should even bother. What's the point when it just got the biggest cut it's ever had?

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Guess I could try to get on Obamacare.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Most of the cuts won't take place for another year or two. If you need health insurance, and you're eligible for Medicaid, get it while you still can.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Apply anyway. The worst that can happen is you get denied. The second worst is that it's underfunded.

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I probably will. Actually, I'll go to the cashiering department at the hospital and have people help me out with it. Much easier to trust people who are experts at dealing with this kind of thing. Of course, that'll have to wait until Monday.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Your plan is good. The sliding scale place I get dental got me set up with medicaid an about an hour. Meant I could finally get my HRT.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Part of the reason I want to do it that way is because I won't put it off if I have someone else help me out. I'm bad about that.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No shame. I cannot focus on, much less *do* gov't paperwork to (literally) save my life.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fantastic news actually. Nebraska voted for this. Suffer with the world you voted for, nazi state!

2 months ago | Likes 177 Dislikes 34

At least you can cheer that other people in the same boat as you are drowning with you? Yay?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The blue dot (omaha) tried it's best, lots of blue dot signs around the time of voting. But it wasn't enough

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Hell yeah, when a state votes for something that means that every single person in the state voted for it and there are zero people who are going to suffer and not deserve it.
/S obviously

If you're okay with a bunch of people who didn't vote for him suffering because you want to punish the people who did...you're not much better than the people who voted for him, because the suffering of everyone is acceptable collateral dama as long as the people YOU don't like it hurt.

2 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 11

Enjoying the suffering of maggots doesn’t mean I’m going to enjoy the suffering of other innocents.

But since joy is so little in this world, I will derive pleasure from these maggots dying and suffering.

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

But do you see what you're doing? You're literally ignoring the suffering of people to enjoy the pain of people.

There is so much joy in the world unless all you are doing is doomscrolling. There's amazing art, amazing people, communities coming together, people finally realizing the state of the world. Even just volunteering your time and helping folks out feels damn good.

People focus your attention away from hating the people hurting others, and focus on helping your community. We need you.

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

You're missing the point. fuck!. Nazis

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

YOU'RE missing the point. Read the original comment. The person said all of Nebraska deserves to suffer because they voted for Trump. Which is literally centering the suffering of Nazis over giving a shit about all the people who didn't vote for him whose lives are ALSO ruined. But they don't seem to care about those people as long as Nazis are being hurt, and that's just centering the pain of your enemies over giving a shit about the community you claim you want to protect.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gerrymandering and other voter suppression methods steal the votes of so, so many.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nebraska splits its electoral vote, unlike whatever state you are from. The majority of Nebraskans did not vote for this.

2 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 7

Time to take note of houses with trump signs on them

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Out of 5 electoral college votes, 4 went to Trump. The majority of Nebraska either voted Trump or didn't vote at all, which is just as bad.

2 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

The only difference between you and a MAGA voter is that the people you want to oppress are different. You both have the same ideology of gleefully causing harm across the board just because they voted differently from you.

Oh, look, an enlightened centrist (ie. a closeted fascist).

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

What makes you think that?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

While I agree with your message, some of us work in healthcare and have been dealing with this since the start of covid. We are burned out.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

I understand that, but i also understand that it isnt their fault they think this way. While Republicans do lie to their base, it is the Democrats responsibility to counter message an alternative vision. They failed to do that when they agreed with the Republican platform. So why would they vote for Harris, when she basically agreed with them that her admin is responsible for everything bad that they experienced so far, whether it's immigration, the economy or even being pro-war?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 12

So your apologetics hinges on "you didnt oppress my right to punch myself in the throat!"? https://media0.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1b2RpazF0Zmx1NmVnYzl6eGg1dDV5eXFkYnRwNmtoN2x3eXdrd2dnNyZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/3o7qDZGG3TMqNFI5GM/200w.webp

As an "oppostion party" your literal job it to "oppose" the fascists, not accept their ideas and say you'd do it better on the basis of "following procedure".

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

On Trump's first run I was working in mental health care and it was soul crushing seeing all these poor people that entirely relied on government programs to survive regurgitate his views, support him unwaveringly, and idealize him. It made me sick. They are exactly the people he despises. I do not know how you handled it going through COVID, but thank you for working such an extremely important and impossibly hard job. Tip of the cap to you https://media3.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2l

The egotistic idiot is the feed that swine get fat off. Ive zero sympathy for them, they only care about hurting others.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Well, I'll admit we have one thing in common with MAGA voters - they want us to get what they voted for, and we want them to get what they voted for.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I'd be happier if they didn't get what they voted for. And even happier if they hadn't voted for it. The only thing I can hope for now is that maybe since they did get what they voted for, they will realize it is not what they want after all and then maybe they won't vote for it again. Assuming we have the option to vote again.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Well, voters do not understand the impact of the policies they vote for until they happen.

It was the same thing with Abortion. They loved it until it impacted them, and then went from "abortion is murder" to "wait some murder is good actually and states rights!"

We will have elections. It's the biggest fundraising event for both parties. Whether it'll be fair is another matter entirely.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Many voters understand perfectly well how the things they vote for will affect them and other people. It's why we choose to vote the way we do. Anyone who doesn't is intentionally keeping themselves in the dark about the consequences of their actions, or they're really stupid, or possibly it's both.

I'm glad that abortion was legal when I needed one and I am truly sorry for everyone who will die because of stupid selfish people taking away that choice. Abortion is medical care, not murder.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Liberals aren't trying to hurt anyone, they're simply saying: "You fucked around, now is time to find out!" That shit could've easily been avoided by NOT VOTING FOR MANGO MUSSOLINI. How often do Liberals pass bills that are intended to hurt people?

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Accountability is oppression for fuckwits.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I'm saying I do not persecute people based on who they voted for. I always direct my blame towards those in power, or those that defend those in power who have been failing them or purposely want to hurt them. There is a difference between "blaming someone for full tilt supporting fascist policies" vs "blaming someone for voting". Hoping people "get what they voted for" breaks that rule. But of course, blame them all day for supporting the Party that's going to kill them or isnt defending them.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

You dont "persecute" others based on vote? But only those who empower or wield said power to harm others? Thats the same fucking thing ya absolute unit!

https://media3.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1ODJodm9pZGNpczNqZW52enIyZ2ttdWVvYnhsZHRmdnkxbTQxa3llaiZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/l2JhOVyjSHGejoXXq/200w.webp

Yes. The fact that YOU cannot seperate a vote for survival vs a vote for ideology tells me all that I need to know about someone like you.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait wait wait, we are seriously supposed to always hope that everyone in the world is protected from the consequences of their actions? That all votes are meaningless and never result in policy? MAGA voters voted for suffering. It is inflicted wholesale across the country and they are not immune. I genuinely wish that it wasn't happening, but I'm not going to wish a magic bubble of protection on them

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd rather nobody be harmed. I'm trying to convice people to be more charitable to those who otherwise would be open-minded to your cause, but you have written them off as deserving of punishment. I'm trying to plan for wins in the future, not simply scolding and lecturing people into not supporting my cause. There are some that will see the error of their votes, but would you still scold and lecture them then and wish they aren't defended? This isn't transactional.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What a stupid take. We don't want to opress anyone. Hoping that someone gets everything they voted for is very much NOT oppression.

2 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

Yes it is. It's no different than Liberals saying they're going to call ICE on the families of Trump voting immigrants because "they're going to get what they voted for" or saying "I hope Gaza turns into a parking lot" when addressing Arab voters that didn't vote for Harris. I DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO SUFFER REGARDLESS OF WHO THEY VOTED FOR. What kind of person says "I'll fight for you, but only if you voted correctly" wtf man, what's wrong with you?

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 15

MAGA voters literally wanted Medicare funding to be cut. It's been cut. They should be happy they got what they wanted, shouldn't they? Or do they not want it now that they got it?

And anyone calling ICE on anyone is fucking trash, regardless of who they are or who they voted for.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It's Medicaid and "Medicaid" is called something different in each state, where they may not know that what they have is being cut. They'll find out soon enough after the midterms when it actually kicks in.

I'm willing to bet Trump will do his classic reversal and push TRUMPCARE that restores some of it to solidify Republican fealty once again.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Apples to Oranges. The sentiment I've seen is "you get what you ask for". Is much different than "I'll help the suffering" which MAGA seems to be bent on.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I'd gently say that othering people because they are trapped in a red state is extremely shitty though. I'm stuck in Florida. I'm an essential employee. I voted for what I thought was best for the masses (so - I have never voted red in my LIFE lmao). When I see people hoping everyone here dies in the next hurricane, it's extremely alienating. Like I'm progressive. All my friends here are. But we're in the wrong state, so fuck us? Majority doesn't mean ALL of us, anywhere.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Millions of people are going to die and we should not cheer it on just under this delusion that they'll all be MAGA cultists. There are good people everywhere. Good people who tried. NY voted blue majority wise but there's a ton of bigots in that state, lol. I'm from there and visit often. I get wanting these horrible human beings to get what's coming to them. But you can't just hope an ENTIRE population dies. That's super fucked up.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

While I understand the gleeful schadenfreude. Not everyone in Nebraska voted for it, they were just outnumbered. That won't stop them suffering from it too.

2 months ago | Likes 133 Dislikes 14

The majority of Nebraska voted for this.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So everyone in the state should suffer and have it be cheered?
That's like saying the majority of those that voted, voted for that orange dickhead, so every single American deserves it because they were outvoted?

People can't vote for others, they can only use their own vote.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't believe everyone in Nebraska is a shitty person, so this is bad.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This bill is bad for a vast majority of the country. We're all going to be hurt by it. SW Nebraska is DEEP red, though. I'm just happy it's hurting more Republicans than Democrats, in this particular case.

2 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I'm in Idaho. I already got fucked because our governor is a human piece of shit. Actually.. that is STILL too kind. I hope every Republican suffers. Every single fucking one. They deserve EVERY single thing they voted for. I hope it happens to each and every one of them personally. They deserve what they voted for.

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They should have fought harder.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

that's what they're cheering about - 'those people ' will suffer too just like jesus commanded.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sucks to be them. If you look at the vote tallies, it was a clear majority that voted for this. And tbh I’ve heard ppl in Nebraska saying that while sure there may be pain initially, in the long run it’ll be worth it. Tbh I wanna see the long run for that state.

2 months ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 9

I live in this state. I know the long run, and it's not good outside of Omaha and Lincoln. Omaha might have a chance since we recently elected a competent mayor. Our state government, on the other hand, definitely doesn't have the people in his best interests.
