The wayback machine has a nice clear diff version of the true document and their hatched version https://web.archive.org/web/diff/20250601021212/20250806023110/https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/

Congress maintains that website, not the White House or an Executive branch agency.

Republican assholes run both the Executive and Legislative branches.

2 weeks ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

Seems republicans are now unanimous in enabling what the president wants. Among being unanimous in protecting pedophiles.

2 weeks ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

They won. For forever in their minds. They don't have to do shit anymore

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

For people who act like the constitution is a holy document, they sure like ignoring it and restricting reading it in full.

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

the only part of the constitution they care about is the second amendment and the religion part of the first(if its benefitting Christians), Also the 10th but only if used for red states.

That Constitution page has links to annotations and the one for Article 1 is missing the notes for the missing sections/clauses: https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/article-1/<
">/a>

You can see the missing notes in an earlier version on archive.org: ht">br>
">/a>

You can see the missing notes in an earlier version on archive.org: https://web.archive.org/web/20250721170235/https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/article-1/

This would imply it wasn't a glitch or error, since someone would have had to selectively remove the corresponding parts from two separate documents.

2 weeks ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Considering it's back to normal I would say so.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds more like an draft change that got pushed too early.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol, in the one they changed, section 1 ends in a semicolon. They didn't even fix the punctuation to cover their tracks..

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

WTF can we even do??

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The U.S. has been in a Cold Civil War since at least the 90's. This might in fact never end until it heats up.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Legally? Nothing.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Uh ... armed revolt? Just a suggestion, like. Y'know, what with all the guns and people claiming they'll never let the government tell them what to do & stuffs.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They seem to have also gotten rid of the Navy and the ability to govern Washington DC

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

lol as of 2:00 PM EST the annotated constitution on the website is completely down https://constitution.congress.gov/

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They made a post on bluesky earlier today blaming a "coding error" it's all back up and restored at this point.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 weeks ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

A coding error? For reals? What coding error selectively removes a tiny bit of content from a single chunk of text without affecting anything else? That reeks of "oh shit, they caught us, quick, make up an excuse!"

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

nota bene: the White House does not control Congress's websites.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Seriously? You mean the coder in charge has 100% no ties to Trump or can be bought?

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still kind of sus a "random glitch" removed aspects so relevant to what trump is doing.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Deleting the final paragraphs of a section is the sort of thing that an array-truncation error might cause. I am currently skeptical of all explanations; I posted my screenshot just to confirm that the news story was real.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Best case interpretation is that *because* they are so relevant, new annotations were added and in a way that did something stupid like breaking formatting. And since it's just the clowns in charge they didn't test before making it live.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The 'coding error' has the same credibility as me going to find Sofía Vergara in my bathtub with only a whiskey and a smile.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seems it's back now. Probably nothing to worry about. Surely we can trust our government.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So, since nobody's commented on it that I can see, I guess Congress is going to be looking into selling titles of nobility to the highest bidder at some point relatively soon...

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What the actual fuck are you guys doing over there???

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

According to the Ministry of Truth, the constitution has never had any section about "due process" or "foreign gifts."

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's like having kids running the shop :D

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

just the titution now. cons are no effect by it

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a website. It doesn't change anything in the Constitution. Let's not get scared for trunt's BS. trunt is 79 years old, doesn't exercise, and eats garbage. He'll be dead soon enough. Then we have to deal with his nazis.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Where's Nick Cage when we need him?

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Huh. Wonder what that’s about.

2 weeks ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

just a clerical error, nothing to see here

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Totally innocent I'm sure!

2 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Just a clerical error! No need to worry! Now please scan your government ID to play GTA VI

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"We can remove it from the website since it's the only way to read the constitution short of reading the real one, but you'd have to ask Nicolas Cage to know where it is!"

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They are claiming it is a coding error. Pretty unlikely.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well they fired everyone with IQs above room temperature, so they’re bound to start having coding problems. But what are the odds it would be these pages with this administration?

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My bet is that it's another epstein smokescreen. Removing the articles from a website doesn't remove the constitution, and the legislature can't change the constitution without a virtually impossible song and dance. But you know what they can do? Remove a couple bits of their website, have everyone start freaking out about how they're going to install trump as dictator or whatever, and then put it back with a little whoopsie while the media storms and people generate conspiracies

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

To be clear, congress can’t change the constitution by itself at all. Neither the normal method of amending the constitution, nor a constitutional congress can amend the constitution without the approval of 3/4 of states’ legislatures. ear

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, but when MiniTruth finish scrubbing it from all government records, they can claim that any remaining references are a "libtard hoax", and just ignore it as though it never existed. Because 'officially' it no longer had...

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

In a saner world this would trigger a military coup to stop trump once and for all.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In a saner world he would've been stuffed in solitary confinement and the key snapped in half by the end of his 1st term at the latest.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seems like the constitution is getting the bible treatment of picking and choosing what to follow

Republicans and the constitution :

2 weeks ago | Likes 148 Dislikes 0

And what of the American People? When do they grow a collective spine instead of letting fascism take over?

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 7

that's the neat part, they dont. just like hungary, turkey, germany, greece, italy, cypress, etc - the majority of the 'global west' has turned towards authoritarianism due to the rise of unregulated capitalism. this totalitarianism was the natural outcome of letting money dictate society.

2 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

Germany, Cyprus and Greece are liberal democracies. Italy is a liberal democracy with populist pressures right now. Hungary is "Competitive Authoritarian" and Turkey is the same, sliding more toward authoritarianism. USA is very much the extreme example to the world of many things, including the results of:
Unbridled capitalism
Uneducated/stupefied population
Mass, population-scale apathy and inaction

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

It is worthless. Laws are only worth the will to enforce them. And the courts and the Democrats refuse to enforce them, because to do so they'd have to upset the status quo by, say, deputizing people to arrest ICE for breaking the law.

2 weeks ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

yep. Without enforcement it's merely a suggestion

2 weeks ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Not even a strongly worded one. Maybe more like a wish list.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Satire, right?

...huh. So checked out the actual congress site. So it's real.

What the hells is going on with your country?

2 weeks ago | Likes 224 Dislikes 3

Criminals are in charge and are doing everything they possibly can to loot as much as they can out of the country while pretending that everything they do is reasonable.

2 weeks ago | Likes 96 Dislikes 0

The result of Americans continuing to fail their democracy by posting memes when they should be growing a collective spine like all the other populations around the who rose up against oppressive leadership did throughout history. When 1.4% of the population holding signs for a few hours counts as their "Largest protest in US history", it tells the world a lot about the complicit apathy of the American People.

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 11

As someone directly impacted by this shit, I honestly don't blame them. I'm probably not going to fight either, not because I don't want to, but because I know my countrymen enough to know I'll simply be throwing my life away. Rather than paint a target on my back and risk my loved ones being targeted to get at me, for a population that actively scores and loathes me, I much rather just help those I can escape. They won't give a shit until they're on the chopping block, which is for too late.

Transition to dictatorship. It's what a revolution from the top down looks like.

2 weeks ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 1

the Heritage Foundation spokesman has said that America is in the process of a revolution which can be bloodless if the Left allows it to be. this indicates to me that if the "Left" puts up too much resistance the Right will start the blood flowing. not that they haven't been doing that already. just look at the mass shootings in America, who they are typically done by and who their typical targets are. it's very easy to see that the Right shot first and keep shooting.

2 weeks ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Notice he didn't say it would stop only that it'll either be bloodless or bloody. They're doing this regardless of what "the left" thinks. They carefully point out that it's "the left" who are the only people opposed to this. The intent here is that in order for "the right" to be against what they're doing they must first become "the left" and there are too many people opposed to that idea. The division was step 1

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Update: they say it was a "code issue" that is being fixed as quickly as possible. Which is just buzz words for "this was a dry run to see if you'd notice"; Because what sort of code would happen to cause that specific of an issue on content that has remained unchanged for decades and why is someone messing around in that content anyway?

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Everything.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We've been sliding towards fascism for the last 70+ years, and now we're finally close enough to the edge for them to make a power grab. People are apathetic and simply want to maintain their status qou. They wanted to believe that simply checking a few boxes on a ballot every 2 years was all they had to do the remain safe and free, and pretend that the Overton windows steady shift rightward and the corporate take over of our democracy wasn't happening before their eyes.

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This.. so much all of this.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I want to ask if they genuinely think we'll all just forget these things exist, but then I remember how fucking gullible they are on stupid shit so yea I guess they do

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seventy-four million humans are brain dead because of the systemic erosion of education in this country over the last, at least forty-forty years that I've been alive, for this exact moment in time. Couple that with systemic racism/misogyny/bigotry, a media echo chamber that does not allow critical thinking or the facts get through. The worship of fame and money. All that, plus so much more, is why this country is where it is.

2 weeks ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Testing the waters. Things are getting weird out there friends.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The two main political parties are "right wing conservatives" and "super-ultra-mega-right-wing terrorists". And currently, the terrorists are in power, threatening to arrest, deport, or murder anyone who doesn't let them do anything and everything that they want. (Including indirect murder, such as withdrawing funds for things like Disaster Relief efforts unless residents surrender and capitulate)

It's amazing how many people see the Democrats as "the good guys" when their policy basically amounts to "look, we're perfectly capable of empowering the entrenched wealth of the nation to exploit the workers and bleed them dry without demonizing minorities. Besides, the PR efforts alone would cost more than it would help us extract to spend on more yachts, so it's not a pragmatic approach to wealth extraction."

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

I think most people see them as the "not about to destroy the country and inserta dictator" guys. Nobody thinks there are "good guys" anymore

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Too many see them as the good guys and ignore any wrong that they do. They act as if they haven’t been appeasing the right wingers whenever they get a chance. Even during the election they were more bothered about jumping even further right than actually challenging Trump. Their views on immigration were basically “we’ll do the same but we’ll be less crazy” whilst they deported more efficiently than Trump could ever dream of

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I see it more of a timing concern. The Democratic party needs to be addressed, but there's a time and a place to do so safely. Trying to do that now only creates larger opportunities for the Republicans to get away with horrible things.

It's like deciding to fix a cracked foundation during a flood. The foundation needs to be fixed, but trying to do so during a flood only makes it easier for your house to collapse.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just checked it and it's there. Temporary technical issues? https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Possible. Or it was put back because someone noticed their fuckery and alerted the rest of us to make a big thing about it. Often times it seems that the powers that be expect that everyone has goldfish-level memory and no means to access information to evaluate things. And more often still, as of late, it seems that those powers are intent on crafting that reality where it does not yet exist.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Rather specific for "technical issues".

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

True, but also entirely possible. There is also no reason to read that far into it. We already know they are planning this, they have floated the idea a few times. When they actually try for it they will announce it well ahead of time. Nothing Trump does is even remotely secret in any way. He uses networks like Fox to run propaganda ahead of any major moves to prep his cultists into thinking it's a good thing. It's why Newsmax is currently floating the idea Maxwell was actually a victim.
