no one learned anything https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2019/12/31/790261705/farmers-got-billions-from-taxpayers-in-2019-and-hardly-anyone-objected

So just buying votes with taxpayers money. Wonderful.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

A bailout won't come this time. The funding lines for such things dried up, and the Trump admin is cutting aid that goes to climate and weather related issues. They're shit out of luck and absolutely deserve it.

4 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Bailout? But thats communism and socialism and satanism and illuminati and build-a-bears...

4 months ago | Likes 502 Dislikes 1

No see, it's only Communism when brown people get it. When white, especially big businesses get it it's "Economic development incentives"

4 months ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 1

Uh. Farmers live on subsidies. And federal insurance.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OH THE BUILD-A-BEARS!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fucking lost it at build a bear!

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't those bailouts work only for corporations, not small time farmers?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They didn't have a problem accepting bailouts when he was president last time why wouldn't they take them this time?

4 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Why would he bail them out this time? The goal is to crash the country. Removing resources has been the first 100 days so far.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sure, sure. But any other time, any other president, when any support for people is mentioned read my comment again.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

MAGA love socialism ("we should be spending that money on Americans, not other countries"). They just hate it when it helps "those people" and not themselves.

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's easy to take "those people" to mean something racist but it's actually anyone who's at least a dollar poorer than them.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Aw farmers got fucked by voting for the guy who said he'd fuck them? Lol good. Fuck you.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

i hope you get everything you voted for

4 months ago | Likes 236 Dislikes 1

So do I, but Kamala isn't looking too likely at this specific point in time!

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn’t.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Careful. They voted for some people to get hurt, and i think they would make that trade.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Did they vote for it though? The Midwest has been red for decades but there's no way he won all 7 swing states without cheating. They still don't deserve a bail out.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really hope we don’t get what those idiots voted for. We’ll likely die.?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anus cancer?

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

wife's hometown is a successful farming town with a Honda Plant. Farm failures and foreign factory closures are a real threat of failure right now.

4 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Id say fuck em if it didnt fuck us too. Goddamn worms

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looks like a couple of billionaires are going to be able to buy a shitload of cheap-ass farmland soon.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Remember, folks… for a very long time, US farm owners have enjoyed higher median net worth AND median net income than the U.S. median, while also enjoying lower tax rates.

At the same time, the farming industry is rife with human trafficking, exploitation, racism, sexism, and fraud.

And now, they’re asking for yet another government handout to save them from a completely-foreseen-and-preventable crisis. I’m not even surprised any more.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How about about no. They got bailed out during Trump's first term when he pulled this same shit. And they voted for him again knowing he would fuck them over a 2nd time.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is specifically WHY they voted for Trump again. They were hoping they would get another bailout.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I live in the city but drive through a lot of rural towns for my job. I saw hundreds of gigantic "Trump 2024" signs and flags on farmland. Huge banners on fences, semi trailers painted with maga bullshit, and "Let's Go Brandon" flags were daily eyesores for me. This is exactly what they asked for. Zero fucking sympathies.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I’m affected by tariffs. Can I have a bail out?

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

And these morons will continue to vote for Trump in 2028.

4 months ago | Likes 154 Dislikes 4

Don't normalize this sentiment.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They'll all be dead by then

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not me.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I believe you mean these morons THINK they can vote for Trump in 2028 but... A) He is ineligible to stand. B) He is dead where his grave becomes a public toilet. C) Democracy is dead and voting is now a sham.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They need starved out. It's warfare. These people want civil war.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Good, I hope they do. It would be a waste of their vote

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Then trampy will refuse to leave the white house, or incite another riot and get a bunch of congress members killed this time

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good. Hopefully he gets what's coming to him as well

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You still think Americans will be able to vote in 2028?

4 months ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

Of course they will. It’s just that Trump will miraculously get 106% of the popular vote.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

China still votes.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They’ll vote but the results will be pre-determined anyway

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yea, but only whites with red hats and a cross around the neck. Only the best people can vote the best people!

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Dear Trump-supporting American farmers: Hungry? Eat dirt.
There can be no bailout for people who voluntarily destroyed their own businesses. You voted for someone who promised tariffs. You got tariffs. What's the problem?

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

3 of out 4 farmers voted for trump. And i bet the 1 out of 4 that didn't sell locally and are less impacted by the tariffs

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Really, no one so far!? Obligatory:

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ffs they voted for this shit in droves. Dumbasses.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"No handouts, ThAt'S sOcIaLiSm!" - Them like 4 months ago. Screw em all. THEY voted for this, they deserve to suffer under it or else they'll never learn. Not that I have faith they'd actually learn if we did let them rot, but at least we can watch them suffer with the rest of us.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

wtf. Watching the movie (free on YouTube right now)and just passed this monologue.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hah noice

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They better pull harder on those bootstraps.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So hard

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

His last admin collected ~$28B in tariffs. ~$28B also went to farmers & ranchers as subsidies for all the ag export losses. So much winning.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The only bailout will be mega farm corps buying out the family farms for penny’s on the dollar. Then you and your kids can go put Tesla’s together (oops, no one is buying them) or pick the crops on land that used to be yours.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hey farmers, have the day you voted for.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or instead of asking for a bail out, you could just have voted for someone who wouldn't have fucked you over in the first place?.

4 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fuck em.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How does that Republican motto go, again? No free handouts

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is astounding that one politician can single-handedly do this much damage this quickly. https://media4.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1b2JuY2Q4ZWQ5dGhyOHZmazZzYWVtcGhmYXJtYWt6OWYwbWpraWdmeiZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/jh2KfJt2sr0GCBhWsP/200w.webp

4 months ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 3

It's not one. We have built into the system a lot of safeguards. The problem is all the safe guards are also Republican controlled by people with no spine. They voted for it them. They sold their souls and his unchecked rampage is what we reap.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Right... hitler was just "one politician" too. You need to understand that there is a global fascist movement, they're all helping and copying each other, and they have legions of enablers and loyalists supporting them, not to mention the oligarchs and all their billions of dollars. The sooner you understand how big the problem is, that it's not just Trump, the sooner you can become effective in fighting back.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We used to call the President of the USA the "President of the Free World". And he clearly seems to be free to break any laws, or fuck up any economy, that he feels like.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's not one politician. People keep thinking this is all on Trump, AHAHAHAHA, no. This is the entirety of the Republican party. He doesn't have enough brains to read above a 5th grade level, he sure the hell didn't write P2025. He's their useful idiot puppet who will sign whatever they want as long as they let him take credit for everything. Which also nicely makes him the scapegoat for everything if they need to hit the eject button and bail out. Repubs have ALWAYS wanted everything being done

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Germany in 1939 says hi.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He is only the rally point. He has no shame, so other Republicans (and some Democrats) hide behind him. They think there are no longer consequences. That's why we have to hold our representatives accountable, because they refuse to do it themselves.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Almost as if he's TRYING to destroy the country. But WHO would stand to gain from THAT?!

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To be clear, he's not alone. The GOP controlled congress could stop this at any time. His cabinet could stop him at any time. He is supported by his enablers.

When the post trump era happens. DO NOT let the GOP claim there was nothing they could do.

4 months ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

They're not his enablers: They're his puppet masters. They're the ones pulling all the strings. The tariffs wasn't something they expected him to go so crazy on, but everything else is by their own planning. Trump's just a fucking idiot who shits his pants and pretends to rule the world. The moment his dementia gets to the point where he can't sign things they'll Amendment 25 him in a heartbeat and put Vance, or even worse Miller, in to replace him.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, calling the entire unified political party that has been working toward implementing this political structure and these policies for as long as most of us have been alive "one person" is wild

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It's not just one politician. There are a whole bunch of shitty people that have been plotting and planning for this for years.

4 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

And they will pay too in time

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

DING DING DING! The Heritage Foundation for one.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And a bunch of them aren't even politicians. "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain."

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

because the people that hold the checks and balances aren't doing their job.

4 months ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 1

He also fired them

4 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

well, I mean the Legislative, and Judaical branches...

4 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Oh that

4 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

The legislative and judicial branches were stacked with people whose actual job is to protect trump. They abandoned their sworn duties years ago.
