But does defence require open-carry? Which is more likely to result: intimidating nazis or intimidating a stranger with a gun? Not everyone at the event are going to be locals or even familiar faces. You can't know that everyone at the event is going to recognise him or there won't be other armed individuals.
I believe he was well liked, I believe he had good intentions, and I believe the media slandered him. But I also believe this outcome was not unexpected.

As someone who was there when it happened. Both are in the wrong. But if you are going to open carry a rifle in a public group. Don't fucking carry it in a low ready stances. Have it slinged over your shoulder. It's still there and gives the message, but don't actively show that you are a threat to those around you.

I saw somone going over if it is ACTUALLY illegal to not identify or show a warrant and by federal law they pretty much can do whatever. Very few states actually require it as a law and in court with enough excuses they can get away with it anyway. In short, ur fucked. The new SS is fully legal and the law won't protect you.

The US Democratic Party is a center-right party. Don't confuse the 'Radical Left' that US media (corporations) will talk about and interview with the left that exists outside of that sphere. We have Syndicalists, Democratic Socialists, Marxist-Leninists, Trotskyists, and Maoists, etc. Reform or electoral socialists are certainly more common than revolutionary socialists, but that's not surprising considering the history of the FBI routinely targeting any revolutionary group.
