4$/gallon is not even that expensive. It's was about 7$/gallon before the war and now it's almost 9$/gallon

Wouldn't this be the perfect time to make a more legitimate attempt and switch to renewable sources and just stick it to oil/gas ?

Gas prices are only expensive as the greed of its suppliers

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now is a good time to give your car a tune-up. Change the oil, replace the air filter, fix the things that keep your car from running good.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol, freedom and gas are both expensive. Only one is worth fighting for honestly

Who is the humorless plebe downvoting this gold??

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm so happy about the growing awareness of this!

USA and expensive gas? Europe: let us introduce ourself and our over 2€/liter gas prices.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ppl are dying, shut the fuck up winie pos.

Russia only provides 3% of Americas oil. Oil companies are price gouging and using partisanship to sell the BS.

3 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

That’s not how oil trading works through. It’s not the 3%, it’s the 12% removed from global supply.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And given that oil companies aren’t setting crude prices they sell at, it is literally impossible for them to gouge

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oil is traded as a commodity. Essentially the question is asked “how much will you pay for 1,000 barrels of oil” and purchaser compete(3)

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(4)to offer the lowest price that will get them the oil they need. Right now you have far more buyers needs than supply, so they are willing

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(5)to pay a premium to stay in business.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gas is expensive so the 1% can continue to control us and live lavish lives at our expense.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stop sharing like this. Gas is expensive because America is run by heartless oligarchs that see global crises as opportunities for profit.

3 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 6

Yes, and they're laughing the entire while people share shit like this. We're all rooting for Ukraine, but don't be blind in your support.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Crude oil prices aren’t set by the seller.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Buyers bid on the supply lots.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yea, energy is completely fungible. This isn't like diamond monopolies, people.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

They don’t get it…and they don’t care. They’ll post non stop about American oil profits in order to use their new favorite buzzword(1)

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(2) oligarchs but they will ignore the companies in heavily Democratic socialist countries seeing the same thing. They don’t realize that

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Like America is the only place on earth that got high gas prices. I pay almost $3/liter diesel and $2.20/liter for gasoline. +60% is tax

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck off.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Brought to you by OPEC.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gas is expensive because Ukraine is the world's biggest oil exporter... Sunflower oil motherfucker! WHY the FUCK is gas prices going UP!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1 hour of work on minimum wage can barely cover a gallon of gas now, I have a feeling OP isn't exactly lower class

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But the gas prices aren't because of the war. It's corporate greed - price gauging...

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Freedom is a buck o- five what are you talking about?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Know who has a shitton of untapped oil reserves: Ukraine. Russian doesn't want them to become a Western allied petrostate.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Freedom is worth at least an extra $1.05.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I need oil companies to stop spreading the BS propaganda. ?

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Gas is expensive but I'll let you go with freedom for a cash discount.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gas is expensive because oligarchs run America.

3 years ago | Likes 123 Dislikes 4

Gas completely fungible. It's expensive because someone somewhere is willing to pay more for it.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You know it's expensive in more than your country...not bc of any oligarchs. Bc of taxes. But wtf am I to complain // message from ??

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gas is expensive because of multiple factors (most legitimate, some not so much)

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Gas is so expensive because of price gouging. Period. Supply is high, hence the high prices. They found a way to make it cheaper in 2020

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Supply is normal, production is low, demand is high. Add in other extreme factors and you get what we have. Just be glad not rationed yet

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There’s no “extreme factors” lol it’s corporate greed. Period. They have 9k drilling permits that haven’t even used. They are rationing

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

War, pandemic, and supply chain issues all at the same time is an extreme factor. Not that greed isn't, but you seem to imagine/1

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uh huh. The please explain why Norway’s gas is 4 times the US’s presently, inspite of producing multiples of needed oil for self sufficiency

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Should have stayed flat. Them increasing is just proof they are just oligarchs /s

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

75% tax rate on gas in Norway, US Federal is like 22 cents per gallon and most states add another 20 cents or so.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. That explains why they are more expensive in general. Not why they went up $0.50 in the past couple months to now. Nearly 25% increase.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

The RATE of increase was double of those greedy Americans as well. Given their domestic energy independence, that leaves only two options:

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

1)Either the Norwegians are as greedy, or 2) tweets aren’t the best insight to global economic practices, so much how much they validate you

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Norway and US prices both increased by about 1/3. It was more expensive to start. Learn to do simple math.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I have zero problem paying more in gas if it means these idiots who whine about gas prices would learn what ACTUALLY affects gas prices.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This, though.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can support Ukranian freedom whilst also fighting against exploitation and profiteering.

3 years ago | Likes 211 Dislikes 1

I support ?? by pay my gas and stfu about it. It's a small price. //From ?? ($8.50/gallon - $2.25/liter) incl +60% tax

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Good for you. And all your countrymen who are already financially struggling and can't afford the price hike? Just leaving them swinging?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lifestraw.com, who regularly donate water and filtration systems, now have a fund for getting pure water to Ukraine.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Outlaw oil company dividends. Boom, big source of the greed solved.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Okay how

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gas prices in Brazil are stable.. I guess. Just saw on Bloomberg the petrobras wants to know why they can’t increase prices

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not while pleasing the big oil lobby you can't.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Oh, well... fuck em.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How do we fight this profiteering? My only thought is robbing and stealing - in large groups. I am angry.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Have the government set petrol prices, remove loopholes and tax that industry's profits hard. Vote for pollies that will bring them to heel.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yah... you keep dreamin, bud

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Unironically yes that would be good

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Outlaw dividends. Regulate the industry like utilities. Remove their subsidies. Threaten to nationalize them.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Who's going to do this? Our "government". Laugh

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Steal gas trucks and sell the gas for 1 buck a gallon

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately, the crowd here has already been convinced that you can't. Just as dumb as trumpers, but the other direction

3 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 6

Thats damn near every issue all the time. It’s why we never see positive change. Just extreme fuckery swinging the scale back and fourth

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The crowd here upvoted this sentiment.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

No, the crowd upvoted the flawed idea, and the others commented

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The self-hate is strong in us.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Great side effect of high gas prices is hastening our movement to green energy, and in turn no oil wars.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not really. The entirety of alternative energy options are made from fossil fuel products, and a number of the companies that make them 1/

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

are owned by fossil fuel companies. Except the ones owned by China, of course. Naturally, this means we have no recycling programs for 2/

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

things like solar panels. There's a 95% probability that green energy will permanently lock us into a path toward unprecedented oil wars 3/

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

with absolutely no hope of avoiding environmental catastrophe that will result from those wars. 4/4
