I just googled (I was 13 in 1995 and not caught up on politics) and it looks like Perot created his own party. Someone needs to create The Conservative Party or The Patriot Party, something that sounds Republican to those who don’t follow, but actually it’s pretty centrist (by American standards). Please do not slur that particular farmer with this brush. He was a tremendous champion of ecological and restorative agriculture through improved soil health management via things like no-till agriculture and cover cropping, including managing his grain crops in ways that meant he highly reduced or even totally eliminated herbicides and other pesticides while maintaining yields.

Most of the soybeans grown in the US are for animal feed or oil production; I don't think they're the varietals commonly used for producing food. It would actually be a much better opportunity for growing MORE animals and then deep-frying them!

they ran with an idea that "libruls" are all vegetarians/vegans, and only eating tofu made from soy or soy protein powders and soy food substitutes (like vegan hot dogs made from soy). And some studies suggest soy increases estrogen. So, they ran with the idea that eating soy makes you a pussy. So, it's ironic that these maga farmers are creating all this soy, but now nobody wants to buy it. (Mainly b/c China used to buy it, and China said "f trump")

They learnt a lot when Cinnamon Hitler was in power - they made more from subsidies and selling their crops as animal feed than they could ever make exporting soybeans to China. They ignored the signs where subsidies were paid directly to banks to cover debt rather than farmers and that 70% of the subsidies went to farms with annual incomes above $1m. Big farms have the staff to fill out lengthy government subsidy forms and provide evidence required.
