Chaos Walking is a solid scifi

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

it was decent... albeit not finished.

*takes notes* thank you

yw mate!

All the reviewers said it was hot garbage. Do Ridley and Holland pull it off?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I didn't read the reviews, I just saw it on a streaming service and liked both of the actors so gave it a shot. It was a neat little scifi that did the classic thing of having a particularly specific premise and that being an allegory and commentary, which the story explored. I enjoyed it and thought they did a solid job. And Holland & Ridley work well together. It's like classic scifi in that it's based on this specific premise & you see how it plays out. Give it a shot

to me it felt like something that was almost fleshed out. The last half really felt like they either ran out of budget or writing prowess. It didn't seem finished to me at all.

I've since this gif a thousand times and had no idea what movie it was fun, more shocking it's not even an older movie...

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Right? It's a recent one. And it has some interesting effects, the visualisations of the concept on which the scifi is founded. Defo worth checking out

Reminds me of that "Life" movie.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I would have it as a pet as long as it's not like insects where every thin hair like thing on it is a poison dart.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

You're in luck. It's like on a box jellyfish.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Based on the looks, this should be an aquatic creature and not terrestrial one.

I remember this as being some sort of framework model for one of the Avatar movies, like a skeleton

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

A fun idea by an TD artist or a showcase for a small studio. Looks to me like the animation and model is a dog and new geometry has been generated from that. At first glance it looks like it's made in Houdini so have a look at that on youtube, but I warn you that it's a deep rabbit hole

Sora prompt, perhaps.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Sora has not been made available to anyone as of today

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

True, but I'm sure there are a few investors and engineers playing with it to find a clip here and there.

Doug Jones, all the way.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Need a movie where Andy Serkis and Doug Jones play normal human beings, everyone else is motion cap'ed

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'd watch that.

"Annihilation" I think was the name of this movie?

1 year ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Yeah, based on the Southern Reach books. The movie got the bear though and that bear is... Jiminy Christmas, that bear.
