put a couple small hinges and a latch on them, then you got a nifty little carrier/tray combo for those dice!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Would it be possible to put a couple latches on each one so you could put them together and use them as storage?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a rad idea

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(Rolls for persuasion) I'll give you 25 gold for one

7 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

(Rolls Dex check) I glued the felt to the table

7 years ago | Likes 195 Dislikes 3

Can I roll slight of hand instead? I have prof

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

(Rolls Strength Check) I’ve broken the frame. And my dice. And, somehow, the table.

Somebody rolled a nat20

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Shoulda rolled for Sleight of Hand.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

(Rolls THAC0) oh I feel all alone, no one rolls me anymore! :(

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Quattro small batch Stretto cigar boxes. Their box has two inner trays, so you have 3 appropriately sized rolling trays.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(Rolls wisdom ) but why tho

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I should build one so I stop denting tables with my metal dice.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(rolls for luck) don't even have any dice to roll

High quality crafts.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks, it was a fairly crafty day :)

Dice towers are only like $20 and are many times cooler, though. But if silence is your aim, those are fantastic!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Very true. I saw someone make a dice tower out of Lego and it looked rad. Hmm, next project maybe.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

TIL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dice_tower Also, couldn't a dice tower just as well be padded with felt or rubber?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Most people wouldn't bother padding every surface that the dice could potentially bounce off. That's much more work.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right. The photos I saw only had 3 surfaces, but I guess it could be more elaborate.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(Rolls investigation) Guys, where are my dice trays?

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

(Rolls constitution check) Passes out from glue fumes.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dicetray: Priceless

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You could also add some felt to the inside walls too, to stop the dice from wearing their corners off.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a good point

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're not rolling vigorously enough if that small area and tiny ledge is enough to contain your dice.

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

My thoughts exactly. Maybe if you drop the dice straight down into the tray from above, but not too high...

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd get accused of fudging the roll if I did that. And what happens if you need to roll more than three or four die? Do they take turns?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the guys on critical role use dice trays and they are always bouncing out xD

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did this a couple years ago. Worked well for awhile, but I used too cheap of glue. Things ended badly.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Pro tip: fold the felt over the corners instead of just relying on the glue to do all the work... also, use a hot glue gun.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or staples.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For only $2 and 5 minutes of work, I'd say it's well worth it if it works for just one 10 hour campaign.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

dice trays are a thing?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not as popular as dice towers tho

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

First DnD game is this Saturday. Pretty happy about it.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Glhf :)

ONE OF US, ONE OF US

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sorry I'm dense, but why exactly would one need a dice rolling tray?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Pretty?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Helps to keep the dice contained if you're playing in a cluttered / smaller area. Nothing worse then dice all over the floor or 1/?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

knocking your pieces over if you're into miniatures. One wild dice can knock a bunch of pieces out of place. 2/2

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And like 200$ worth of dice.

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

What? There's two sets of mass produced plastic die there

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So $20 at most if they are at least decent?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got some really nice $13 dwarven style dice on Amazon

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where the fuck are you guys getting your dice from

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Personally? I buy Chessex dice from a local hobby shop. /a/fQddjEC Hard to find images that do them justice.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm not the guy your replying to, but I can get a chesses set local for like 7 CAD. Maybe there was a sale but I found it very reasonable

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Do they wobble? Cause I made a dice tray with a frame and can’t get it level after taking the kick stand piece on the back off. :/

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I had to pry out the kickstand and hammer flat the hinge piece.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You could glue something small in each corner, like buttons or eggs

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But most of my best rolls are when it lands on the floor..

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

[Rolls 12 or below] ah shoot, it fell off the table

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

[Rolls 13+] okay so plus bonuses, that's a 21.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(Constitution check) The glue is poisoning me

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0
