God the water fountains at school were so CWISP. I think that set the tone for adult me. Did I drink water as a kid? Not willingly, I recall a lot of koolaid, milk and sunny D if we were lucky, lmao. Now I have a 40ozer that gets refilled twice a day, and it has to be glacial cold.

It was great when you drank from the school water fountain and the arc of water dipped as someone flushed a toilet.

I drank out of a hose quite a few times.

Yep, hose a plenty. My grandmother's house, they'd rinse out gallon milk jugs, full 1/3 with water and throw in deep freezer. When we were over, we grabbed a jug and cups, and went outside. Cold hose water didn't quite have that same hose taste, but in South Louisiana, the cold water was a necessity.
