His name is literally Stoffel. Which is a german insult for a dimwitted and/or rude person.
saloonmen
All public servants have lost credibility. But the day will come for accountability .
CaptainYesterday
Notice the investigation didn't take months and the FD didn't waste time releasing a statement about the situation. Even if all they said was he isn't employed there anymore. PD regularly take months to do investigations because they want the controversy to go away so they can find their criminals with badges do jo wrong.
Shasra
Poor lil hobgoblin didn't got saved by his trumpy dumpy. What a shame. /s
Monkeynutsjoe
Might be time for Dre to start working on that follow up single, all I'm saying.
Loctavius
I've helped organized 10 protests this year so far. About a dozen cases of people either starting fights or making threats. 100% of those were from MAGA scum. We are protesting peacefully, and it enrages them.
Idontneedrealfacts
"One bad apple doesnt spoil the bunch!" Actually, it does. It will release gasses that spoil other apples. It MUST be excised.
KoalaOnTheJuice
?? You seem to have remembered the opposite of what the original saying was.
Idontneedrealfacts
I seem to be stating it as the morons in police unions in the US have been stating it for years.
DodgyMerchant
So, a job in ICE next?
witheredspoon
If he can't get into ICE, there's always the Proud Boys pretending to be ICE.
Elkarlo77
As an Ex-Firefighter he is tested to use Masks for Breathing etc. So the first point is checked.
StrangerNum1
So haunting Nazis was a thing after WW2 we should start getting ready for a similar situation here soon take notes crew Luigi's army will remember
Spotafire
I am not sure if you made a spelling mistake there, or if it's a Luigi's mansion reference....
phalanxausage
That was a relief. I expected the article to state that he had been fired for attending the protest. Because, you know, that's where we are now.
JackalopeElope
Oh thank god my pro GOD fire suppression will work.
eromitlab
There's a reason no one's seriously out there chanting "fuck the fire department".

SirDistic
Is that reason because firefighters don't show up to a fire and shoot people?
Minoes
They Fire at the Fire I guess, with water
tekcor
Yeah but firefighters are often republican shitlords just like cops. It’s just that they tend to risk their own safety to save you, instead of shooting your dog.
StrangePaegan
I went to find the story of the firefighters involved in the fake Covid vax records but found stories of it from every state. There were also many involved in the pro-Trump Facebook page conspiracy scandal. Firefighters are not necessarily the saints people portray them as.
phobosorbust
I think the difference is a scumlord R firefighter confronted with a burning immigrant would rescue them, while a scumlord R cop is far more likely to point, laugh and twit-post the video.
StrangePaegan
And ignore the opportunity to shoot them?
IMakeLotsOfReferencesAndRemakes
I mean I have one bone to pick with them at least in the USA. Their INSISTENCE that they need those massive fuckoff trucks. Plenty of countries do the job, and BETTER, with smaller trucks. As a result we end up with massive fuckoff lanes that people are more likely to speed on which results in more traffic fatalities.
phobosorbust
lane size is standardized and baked into the infrastructure though. If you could snap your fingers and make US fire equipment smaller instantly and for free, the road size wouldn't change. There's plenty of other traffic designed to fit the roads that exist.
One thing that works is changing lane arrangement and boundaries, which is a thing cities can do as they go through their maintenance cycle. Things like flex poles, or separating car and bike lanes with parking spots.
IMakeLotsOfReferencesAndRemakes
It is not baked in and firefighters unions specifically fight legislation to make changes like that in the maintenance.
phobosorbust
IDK, I've seen scumlord developers trying to argue for alleys so small a compact car can abrely fit, let aloine a garbage truck or fire truck.
This is a bit like the "just use metric" debate.
phobosorbust
(typos, insufficient caffeine. 'barely fit' and 'let alone'.)
oldguyexlurker
They kinda do. They're called calendars...
afatality
chanting isnt moaning....
mikeatike
Some ritual sex cult would like to have a word.
oldguyexlurker
Which one? Specifically? So I can avoid it extra hard...
Hammertulski
Not with that attitude, it ain’t.
livurz
Haha, unlike police, firefighters tenure and pensions typically reset when you change stations. He's back to probbie.
Pelican3
No. Only if they go to a different fire department.
crapybarra
STATIONS?! Not counties? Is this nationwide? I know some LAFD, I could've sworn they've changed stations bc they move or whatever.
livurz
I know my bil and his family are basically stuck in bum fuck Georgia for another 8 years so he can pull pension and not start over. I think it's state by state, but he's definitely stuck.
crapybarra
oof well best of luck everybody
Redbulloth
Not stations, no. Depending on situation, MAYBE changes within a state can still screw it up, and out of state definitely will, but the out of state but will for cops too. In fact, the in-state issue here would be that some fire departments are in the regular state retirement system, and some (including mine) are in the police system. This is one reason I'm not a fan of a blanket "fuck up police's retirement funds" ideas, because I would like to not lose mine as a firefighter.
hannibalhague
The cops do deserve it though
Redbulloth
And to elaborate the point I got away from, a department itself may have a couple dozen stations, and if you lost retirement any time you moved, nobody would ever be able to retire. So far in a little over a decade I've been moved 4 times and have a 5th coming up.
DevilsAdvocat
nice way to hold the firefighters support for them hostage.. wonder if it was any way intentional from the get go or if it was a fortuitous (for them) accident
Redbulloth
It was because both will likely work shorter careers than an office worker due to physical requirements (if you don't move to the admin side of things). Don't know numbers for police in it, but for firefighters here we got retirement at 25-27 years (they increased it a few years back) on the job or 55 years old. Because saying "hey, we expect you to be able to pull someone out of a building at age 63" would be...a tough argument.
Userlivewire
This guy seems like an a-hole but doesn’t this set a precedent to fire the other way too?
SoGrosslyIncandescent
It wasn't that he was there with a pro trump sign, it's that he was shouting slurs. There's already precedent for people being fired for using slurs. Also, that's the reality of at will employment, I'm sure plenty of people have already been fired over the years even before the country went nuts for having view points their employers don't like. They just can't say that's why they were fired if it was a protected class.
Userlivewire
Fireman are union though and not subject to at-will employment.
SoGrosslyIncandescent
Good union then, not protecting bigots
