Thomas Wilson does not get enough credit for this role. He was playing different ages and characters through all 3 movies. At least as integral as Michael J Fox and more screen time than Christopher Lloyd

agreed. I have also seen him do standup and he is good.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jump up and down, get a picture when you're just hitting the floor. Gravity is what makes you look that way and your skin is looser so... that's what you're going to look like. That or get a picture of yourself taking some Gs in an airplane or something.

They probably asked for a picture of his dad as reference material.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Aging follows a lot of similar trends. If I were them I'd also take a look as his father if possible.

1 year ago | Likes 598 Dislikes 2

Yeah it's not hard to predict the aging process.. that's why there are apps, sites, etc that can take a picture and age you up. It follows a pattern usually and the more of your family you can provide as reference the more accurate it'll get.

Also his grandfather, if possible.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Also there´s a good chance he could be cosplaying his own movie appearance

I put my face into an app that ages photos and was kind of horrified to see it looked exactly like my father.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah at my dad's wake, his childhood best friend and that guy's wife were telling me how I looked just like him, and I got to look at pictures of him from back when he was a few years younger than I am now and it was just freaky. Then I used the aging filter on Snapchat on myself and started crying because it made me look like him, but older than he ever got to be.

Meanwhile, his father:

Biff after the makeup artist made him look too mich like his father.

They are more often than not wrong, though. to be spot on is rare.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably looked at pictures of the actor's father and grandfather, as well as pictures of numerous other people old enough to have pictures of themselves at 18ish and 50ish, and extrapolated trends from there on what facial features tend to change and how.

I really do hope this thought isn't baffling him to the point of keeping him awake at night...

Same way that police sketch artists do I would think.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, they did have a DeLorean with a Flux Capacitor, so, I'm gonna say it was probably direct observation.

I just saw an episode of Psych with him in it

I'd rather a . than a title that spoils or ruins the punchline.

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It’s almost as if it’s a known process.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

I think we underestimate how quickly the actor aged. By time he starred in the Wing Commander games as Maniac (1993/4 and 1995/6) he already looked much older than in the first back to the future.

That and the makeup artists had a very good eye.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Great actor. Im always impressed when actors play multiple rolls in a production so well.

Finishing The Great, and I LOVE watching Nicholas Hoult go from Peter to Pugachev.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but to be fair, they completely missed on the aged versions of Michael J. Fox and Lea Thompson. Both maintained their looks much better than the makeup artists anticipated.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

yeah that interpretation of Mike was pretty shaky...

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

To be fair Marty was washed up. Like Lorraine in the first 1985. She looked better after the timeline change.

Lorraine, looks much younger at the end of BTTF then at the start. She's basically her 1955 self but older. Even has the same hair style.

Come on, it's like people don't even know what documentaries are these days, sheesh

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They probably just asked the Simpsons writers what he would look like.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean the actor may have some influence to what he looks like as he ages as well.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well when this movie was made, Hollywood movies were still being made by people with creativity and imagination

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Maybe because they used biff as biff?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Travel forwards in time 30 years, take a photo, travel back, do the makeup - problem solved.

1 year ago | Likes 272 Dislikes 2

Right!? I mean they'd already built the car and stolen plutonium for the movie so just take it out for some authenticity references.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No no when they went forward in time they called him to do his part

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Pff, just hire an artist who can see through time.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Don't forget to bring back an almanac!

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Guys, time travel isn’t possible, don’t be silly. They used fast ageing clones. Went through about 30 of them because they only live for a month or so, that’s only about 4 days of shooting time per elderly clone.

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Sometimes I imagine cloning myself, but I'd probably get into a lot of fights.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Some people will try 69 first, but maybe fight each other later..

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

69 is a given.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well yeah, obviously..... but fight about "who's turn is it" or "I did it yesterday so today is your turn".

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I mean, this makes the most rational scent.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, they already built the delorean for the movie, might as well use it.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They knew what his face already looked like, and they had a good idea how people tend to age.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

What if the actor has been actively tying to not look worse than his film makeup version this whole time?

The whole scenario is flawed.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Plot twist: the actor spent all his earnings from the movie on plastic surgery when he got to the same age as his character so he’d look exactly like him.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Nice.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn how'd they know he'd look 30 years older in 30 years?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The weird thing is that he often looks 45 years older in 30 years, but I think he had a hard go of things.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I shouldn't give away the secret, but they simply used the same face but made it look older

The trick they used in Lord of the Rings to make Théoden look old was to pull the skin of the face taut and then blow fine powder onto the skin. Then, when the face was released, the powder would exaggerate all the age lines. (If I recall correctly.)

1 year ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

Misread that as "pull the skin off his face"

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Was that before or after he kicked the helmet and broke his toe?

That was Aragon.

Future Biff, with the corruption and casino, was based on a hypothetical president Donald Trump, both in appearance and behavior.

a lot of the bad guys from the 80s and 90s were based on trump
