Literally says there's no evidence that they're gone. What the fuck is this random fear mongering?

8 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

First sentence of the wikipedia for di">lose.tv">disclose.tv "Disclose.tv is a disinformation outlet based in Germany that presents itself as a news aggregator". Real ""you are not immune to propaganda" moment right now in this comments section

Lyasavirus? Well it looks like Australia has rabies after all!

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yay. I had this trifecta for 2025!

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

WTF is an Australian bio-lab doing with that shit? In fucking Queensland? That's major bogan territory up there. (A bogan is the Aussie equivalent to a redneck, just not as inbred.)

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Similar thing happened 5 years ago with Covid in a lab in Wuhan. But don't worry, everything is under control.

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 13

Bring it on.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Australia starting to get a little careless. First that radioactive capsule and now this.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We have resource wars looming.. unless of course there aren’t enough people to fight over them

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

The amount of people discounting this story in the comments is probably the same people who kept arguing that COVID's origins were not a lab but some random bat in Wuhan. It's crazy after all this time; we now know it was that lab, and there's barely any news about it. 7 million people died and were like, "Opps!". Stuff is capable of wiping out millions, and we treat it like a clerical error.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

It's a misreported story from a known disinformation site masquerading as news that used to be UFO conspiracy forum... and all the "articles" are written by 4 completely anonymous authors with AI generated profile pictures. You need to reflect more on the process by which you consider things to be credible, including the Wuhan lab leak story which remains a plausible but minority view amongst experts and not a thing we "now know".

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not stolen, just a little oopsie :)

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah no, obvious misinfo. The viruses were not 'misplaced' or 'lost'. They were in a freezer that broke down, and were moved to a different freezer without completing the paperwork required to do so. Breach as in "breach of protocol". Read shit before jumping to conclusions.

8 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

If there is not an updated trail of documentation, then it is essentially "misplaced" as they are literally not placed where they were stated to be.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have we check the maralago bathroom? COVID 2.0 gonna be on his agenda to start a dynasty

America doesn't need to worry; we will soon have a president with experience dealing with viruses.

I just have to laugh at how fucked the next four years are gonna be. Like, it’s just so fucking bad! Things could have been different, Harris shouldn’t have tried winning those white moderates in the suburbs, and more muthafuckas needed to vote for her milquetoast ass.

Welp. Here’s hoping it won’t be as bad as Trump is promising.

I wonder if he'll give us another covid?

Experience in spreading*

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How does the fact that they have been looking for them and can't find them not suggest that they were taken from the laboratory?

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

That isn't a fact. They do know where they all are, in the lab's spare containment fridge. This is a story entirely about a paperwork protocol error that conspiracy mongerers are lying about to spread disinformation.

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you for the additional context that wasn't in the post

It's Australia, those things getting released will just have them murdered and eaten by the local pathogens.

"disclose.tv", sure

We have already caused a mass extinction event. We are already at the point of no return if you haven't listened to any scientist in the past 10 years.

Stop the fearmongering, it's irresponsible as fuck. It's a "breach" in terms of breach of protocol, not in terms of "somebody has breached the lab and stolen viruses!"

Scientist: "There was a breach of protocol" Modern-day 'Journalist': "THE FACILITY WAS BREACHED!"

8 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

These aren't even that scary of viruses all things considered since they're not easily transmitted person-to-person. Hantavirus is a normal hazard in many parts of the world (rodent transmitted), lyssavirus is rabies (bites) and there's a vaccine, and hendravirus is primarily a horse disease and there's vaccines and PEP for horses and humans. More clickbait panic fodder.

8 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

It's more that someone could be taking a whole bunch and trying to make bioweapons out of a couple of options, I think.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

lyssavirus is also wild in Australian bats

Mmm hanta virus. Who doesn't love a good bleed from every orifice?

8 months ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 1

Damn. I got the hentai virus instead.

[Wipes sweat from brow, looks at fingers] Where the fuck did these tentacles come from?

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same orifices, different fluid?

8 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

For you, the day Hanta graced your body was the most terrible day of your life. For me, it was Tuesday.

8 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Hantavirus isn't a viral hemorrhagic fever. The main serious illness associated with it is hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, which is a kind of severe pulmonary edema leading to ARDS and death by multiorgan system failure. With ECMO the case fatality rate drops to about 10%. It is not transmissible person-to-person.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hantavirus_hemorrhagic_fever_with_renal_syndrome What you're describing is one of two syndromes it can cause. Hemorrhagic fever's the other.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes it's a "hemorrhagic fever" in the sense of it's a fever accompanying some hemorrhage in the kidneys. It's not a "viral hemorrhagic fever" in the same way as ebola or marburg, which cause blood to come out of just about every orifice and under the skin.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It literally says "vascular leakage" in its symptoms of "hemorrhagic fever" from a virus. I'm really not sure what hairs you're trying to split. It's just internal. Even ebola does not make your organs liquefy, or make you pour blood from your orifices; that's mostly myth.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Vascular leakage" doesn't mean hemorrhage. Blood is mostly plasma, which leaks out of blood vessels under normal conditions and is returned to circulation via the lymphatic system. Hantavirus increases the rate of vascular leakage, which causes hypotension and shock (since you're losing all the fluid your blood cells are suspended in), or in the case of pulmonary syndrome it all leaks into your lungs and you drown on your own fluids.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And no ebola doesn't "liquify your organs" but it does cause hemorrhage from small blood vessels which depletes platelets and clotting factors, making all bleeding worse. Bruising the entire body and bleeding from many places causes death by 10,000 cuts. Bleeding from the gums, tear ducts, and mucous membranes are often seen in severe strains of Ebola and Marburg virus, though most bleeding is under the skin (bruising/petechiae) and GI tract.

The twelve monkeys are dead, Jim.

8 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

no, I hear they're still roaming about in florida and havent been caught yet

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought it was North Carolina...

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

According to google, we're both incorrect, though you're closer to right. They escaped from a genetics lab in South Carolina, makes me wonder why someone I know on discord was saying florida residents where he's at are getting messages to stay indoors and avoid monkeys... but it is referencing florida, so could be anything I suppose.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, all 9 monkeys are sound and accounted for
