I never watched Fred Rogers as a kid - I guess I always found it boring because I had an older brother who was showing me Transformers and what not so I always found it boring. But as an adult, knowing what he was now - The world needs Fred Rogers or people like him more than ever - but we don't have him - You must be that person. I already spent the last year taking in a friend who was at a rough time in their life. They're reliant on what little government medical support they can get, and their sister is a diabetic single mother in similar shape.
I'm not sure they'll survive if the ACA is gutted, and with the red sweep, it seems very likely it will be. That 1 year old kid is going to be an orphan.

The upcoming state of healthcare terrifies me. An entire suite of people at the helm who straight up don't believe Long Covid is a thing, that disabled people need more support, that maybe people who depend on things like insulin should be able to get them easily and cheaply? People that don't believe things are real until they happen to them? My partner could die in the next few years if money is pulled from healthcare support and research. It's not hyperbole; it's reality for many.

Take a deep breath and organise. You fight back, first time every time. First time you see a harassed trans person or deported Hispanic you organise and protest. If they want to start putting you in camps too you make sure they haven't got one big enough. You are only governed by your own consent.
