I haven’t heard anything about this before. I need to go read more about it. The statement that he had a stroke a few months after the episode aired doesn’t explain why he immediately left the show
As someone who fucking hates South Park- I will give them this: they do in fact make fun of everybody equally. Sometimes- once in a blue moon- they will also punch upwards and make fun of a person/minority group that's actually deserving of a dressing-down.
Yea they made a meta comment about that decades ago. "It is either all okay, or nothing is." Which was the season following their Celebrity+Mohamed episode.
And have since used their philosophy of free speech absolutism to normalize antisemitism, deny climate change, and peddle anti-lgbt propaganda! Not saying they can never be funny. Or that they aren't ever topical. Or that they shouldnt be allowed to say what they do. Or even that they've never done genuine good (cough cough scientology). But they do more harm than good and you should count yourself lucky if youre priveleged enough to have never been impacted by them.
Matt and Trey have never left someone out of being made fun of. Trump Jr. agrees with them only when it's something he approves of. That is not always the case. That is the point YOU missed.
They could've gone harder about the Epstein files and the fact that he's a serial rapist and pedophile and a million other things, but it was still great.
They could have done a lot more, but at least they're doing something. Maybe they'll address the thousand other more serious shit wrong with him than his litigious fuckery.
They bust out a 20 minute episode a week before it airs. I think they did plenty. They also skipped a season because they didn't want to do election related content again. Not everything has to be political 24/7.
Honestly, I feel like the digs they made were not directed at making the audience laugh, but at him personally. Designed to make him, specifically, completely furious. Funny for the rest of us, but we're not the target audience for this one. Time for that later.
Paramount settled in court on a slapp lawsuit as a bribe to trump to encourage trump to ok a merger they have coming up. They also fired Colbert as a sweetner, the man with the top rated late show.
They also renewed South park for 1.5 billion for 4 seasons last week by coincidence. So the show with a 1 week production schedule and zero fucks showed indeed that they give no fucks
Until i saw the other reply i was like "wtf does corn or wheat have to do with this? Is this another teen yeet word i missed while asleep last night? Whats the context even?" And then i was like "oh shit cropping as has been since NTP began.
People should start doing full screen captures instead of saving individual images on desktop too. Let's go all out here. Let people find the meme floating somewhere in the middle of all the windows on someone's 8k monitor.

Yeah I still don't care because the creators of that show has helped pushed maga and "anti-woke" talking points for 20 years. Deliberately.

"One of the skills a society must learn to grow, is the ability to laugh at itself"

Damn, been thinking of how define real strength as opposed to alpha bullshit, and that's probably the best simple test for it.
Real strength is being able to handle being mocked. Every person that I've seen able to honestly laugh off mockery was a person of character.
Getting quietly angry is normal, and the majority of adults. Throwing a tantrum over it is alpha standard, and childish.

#3 are they trying to say d. t. *has* cancer or that he *is* cancer?

Define "woke".
Richter12x2
I never could reconcile their humor with the fact that Trey Parker and Matt Stone have said they're Republicans.
JimFromMarketing
Republicans can mean a lot of things these days
normalperson123
A lot of people watch south park and think Cartman is the hero.
matbella
A lot of people have the mental capacity of a ripped up papercup.
WeatherWiz
It’s only funny when they’re not made fun of. Same mentality as “laws for thee, but not for me”
ApothecaryGrant
Every time you recite that rhyme, a redditor gains its fedora.

Like when Isaac hayes left South Park because they made fun of Scientology

South Park were always part of the problem.
Rips4w
What problem are you referring to?
Rips4w
You can answer without downvoting, dude. I'm not gonna bite your head off.
badkluster04
Did you miss the part where Donald Trump jr agrees with them?
matbella
On very specific episodes where he clearly miss the point because he is a fucking idiot?
Rips4w
Matt and Trey have never left someone out of being made fun of. Trump Jr. agrees with them only when it's something he approves of. That is not always the case. That is the point YOU missed.

I watched the episode. decently funny, but man do they rip into Donald.
The backstory with paramount of course makes it 20 times better

Paramount paid Trump $15 million to make sure their merger went through and they paid Matt and Trey $1.5 billion to sink it

But it also went through yesterday, so. They didn't sink it.

What's the backstory? Genuine question.
