In the UK this year BYD recorded a 400% rise in sales compared to 2024, while Polestar saw its sales spike by nearly 300%. Tesla sales collapsed by over 46.1% during the same period.
The stock is still crazy overvalued. It's a clear example of how a company's stock is reflective of shareholder confidence and has absolutely nothing to do with company performance. Tesla straight up fabricated numbers and it came out and the stock didn't go down. Very much reminds me of Enron or Valeant. One day it will crater as it should have long ago.
The brand is so closely tied to his cult of personality that it'd be a rough move to remove him. Why else do people buy shitbox nazi machines but to suck up to the head of the company? Yes, for a while the cars were truly the only serious modern EV option in the US, but at this point they're badly made last-gen terrible investment options. The board has to be weighing whether to ride the Titanic and hope people forget the Nazi at the top or replacing him, but the cult wants their leader.

I'm surprised that Tesla hasn't booted him already.
