Do we have our priorities right? Check my math here.

Congress is voting to officially approve $9 billion in funding cuts (money they’ve already approved in the past) which they call “rescission.” Specifically, this funding has already been approved for foreign aid, NPR and PBS.

Among many problems here is Congress hasn’t been told specifics about how or where this $9 billion will be cut, and leaves that to the White House.

But hey, cutting spending is good right?

They just approved tax cuts for the rich, among other things, which will “add” over $4 trillion to our deficit, all part of the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Just looking at the tax cuts for the rich part, that’s a little over $2 trillion.

Okay, check my math here.

$2 trillion is 2,000 billion.

2,000 billion versus 9 billion.

Simplifying this down to dollar amounts and proportions we’re more familiar with…

If 2,000 billion were $20, 9 billion would be 9 cents.

We let the rich get an extra $20 like it ain’t no thing, but it’s so critical for us to make cuts to NPR and PBS and foreign aid to save 9 cents.

Am I missing something here?

You are missing that the rich pay really good bribes to Congress.

Imagine your party's only capability is to sell all your belongings, piss off your neighbors, and ruin your retirement.

Their special interests write the bills anyway. They don’t read them so if they have concerns, I wonder if they could even verbalize what they are.

There will only be consequences for their actions if they *don't* vote for it, in which case they'll be replaced with another stooge during the next election cycle. And vilified with lots of orange spew in the meantime.

Republicans enjoy making others suffer and want to keep defund/eliminate anything and everything where someone could learn something. Because keeping people dumb and ignorant makes them more gullible, easily manipulated, and makes them vote Republican.

"I'm very concerned about this. DEEPLY concerned. I mean, of course I will support it, but it will do terrible things to my constituents and that makes me sad. Very sad. But I do have to vote for it - is great for me personally. What else could I possibly do?"

Fascism requires citizens to be uneducated and easily manipulated. Cutting funding to PBS and NPR is on the Project 2025 playbook.

Nope. It's Republican math. "If $251.80 of my tax money goes into politicians pockets and the military contractors, then we gotta stop spending 20 cents on school lunches for starving kids! Be fiscally responsible! I will personally give $20k to a mega church and $10k to a lady who called a little kid a slur, but I will not spend a single dime on my kids healthcare! You gotta broken arm? Wrap it in duct tape, I ain't made of money!"

Well time to attach an amendment to release all Epstein case evidence. Then they can decide how bad they want those cuts.

They only waste time by stating their concerns but then voting for it. They do not impress at all. They just reinforce the view of many, many of us that they are weak, spineless wusses who can't read or lead..... SO THEY SB REMOVED.

They still owe me 2k a month for life just for having to deal with Trump at all as an Indigenous American

And they can keep running, but theyre gonna ducking pay me to keep existing or I'll take the whole fucking thing apart with a few words

They've already heavily lost control of the narrative in the several places that I've been hacking away at it like a busy beaver/silly goose wuzzle

GOP is shit. I think that is the takeaway. They can only destroy.

If they weren't constantly fucking things up, then they'd have NOTHING to campaign about "fixing" when the next election came around.

YOU WILL VOTE FOR... IF YOU WANT TO!!!

Oh my god these people give me brain fog...

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Exactly. If they "have concerns" about the bill, then MAYBE THEY SHOULDN'T VOTE TO PASS IT!

If they negotiate a bipartisan bill, then use recision to cut the things democrats negotiated for, democrats will have zero reason to negotiate with them ever again.
I think schumer said he will shut down the government if they do this

Republicunts are either a) too stupid or b) too impressionable (e.g., in a cult) to understand and accept the basic math you laid out. I think it's a great example. I doubt it hits home for them. They still won't get "get it" and don't want to.

The only thing you are missing is that it was never about irresponsible spending and debt; that was campaign bullshit, front-facing lies. It was always about what the money was being spent on.

How about voting for a reduction in Headcount at the White / Waffle house. We could call it "taking out the empties" - there's only one Empty Head there.

"Republican senators say they have reservations about bill that will send 80% of America's population to indentured work camps, which they have already blindly decided they will vote on" -Similar headlines six months from now.

"If I had known the indentured-servitude-for-all-especially-Georgia bill included indentured servitude for my constituents, I wouldn't have voted for it!" -MTG

You are very generous to them, imagining that they will have any reservations about selling us into serfdom, as long as the price is right. I wish I had your magnanimous spirit.

2 weeks ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

More like they'll *pretend* to have reservations. They are, after all, moderate bipartisans who have to make hard decisions because those damn radical extremist lefties just refuse to help them make America great. /s

The senators will SAY it... not mean it.

You forgot to add, "cunts gonna cunt" to the equation.

2 weeks ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Don’t denigrate cunts by comparing them to such filth. Cunts possess depth and warmth. Republicans don’t possess either of those qualities.

Hey, don’t denigrate filth by comparing them to such Republicans. Filth possesses depth and substance. Republicans don’t possess either of those qualities...
