Step 1: Be able to kneel
Step 2: Be able to get back to your feet

I just twisted in my chair a bunch and there were a lot of cracks so I guess I'm good

Sounds like a great start!
You will definitely have less pain than people who don't do chair exercises.

Looks to me like you gotta get your back blown out so your back doesn't blow out

I have hypotonia, I don’t as much need to stretch my back as I need to strengthen it to hold my damn self up. Any tips there?

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All these stretches require working knees. When your back is sore, chances are your knees are shot as well.

Gen Alpha is already developing humps.

#1 These stretches are most effective when you have your clothes off and your partner has just gotten out of the shower.

Not only would a lot of these pop my knees out of joint but they would send my back muscles into debilitating spasms. I'm all fucking broken

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If slouching is so bad for you, why does it feel so comfy to do?

10 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Temporarily relieves pressure on the back muscles at the expensive of the spine? Holding good posture without decent back and core muscles isn't easy. Stretching is great, but doing exercises to build/maintain those muscles is also important. Even knowing this, I'm still just a hypocrite while I hunch over my phone to type it.

#2 but it's one of life's joys to crack you back like it's a crinkly candy wrap

My knees hurt just from watching this.

#1 I kinda wanna know what song this is playing in the background

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

at first I was wondering if it was going to be a contortionist doing something silly no one else could do, or some quack with a miracle cure, but then I just realized "OH they're fun PTs." and I also realized that if I could bend my body into those positions I probably wouldnt have the back pain anyways...

Just had my left hip replaced. Won't be doing anything like this for a couple of months.

I went to the chiropractor recently because finally, I couldn't ignore it anymore because of the pain. Turns out I'm less than 2° from being scoliosis. And my neck is straight when there should be a curve. I'm getting help now but Yes, if you're on your phone please don't look down. Hold your phone up in the air. It really is horrible for your neck and back.

Yea, imma need a physio to take me through these or I'll forget immediately how they're done

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m fixing to try these I’ve got chronic back pain even if it’s stupid and doesn’t work it’s gotta be worth a shot

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What a coincidence. Same here.

10 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Key point is to not overstretch. Like, don’t push the muscles to their maximum extents. Feels that should be mentioned.

I've got 5 herniated discs and a spinal cord stimulator. I forgot this but if I do it now it will probably kill me

I too shall favourite & forget, then in a few months I shall remember & tell my hubby about it when his back goes, only to find I favourite a LOT of things! So, because of this I shall download it to my phone… but by the time I’ve remembered I cannot find the useful post amongst the 22,458 photos & 6,725 videos I keep meaning to go through on my phone…

I was just recommended mymind yesterday as a solution for this. Still haven't started using it though..

I am way too afraid to over stretch my spine (HEDS) I fear it will pop out of place permanently.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(Disclaimer: Obviously not actual recommended practice. The posture part I mean, go wild with the outfits!)

both are wrong, proper is to have back and neck support for prolongated sitting time, not being 10 cm away from your chair

Yoga has some great core exercises

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Looks very similar to the yoga classes I used to do. It was actually a super chill time, and at the same time it was also the 2nd most sweat inducing workout I ever did. Can recommend.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes but with out the "fluff",

I was thinking breakdancing, but, yeah, yoga too

Is this PE or chiroquackery? Seems legit, but because of the bubble wrap noise, I need to ask internet certified people.

10 months ago | Likes 112 Dislikes 9

The sound is added for coolness.
But stretching the right way (combined with basic core exercise) is guaranteed to give awesome results.
Source: Experience.
Daily minimal exercise and stretching fixed me up like magic!
Your muscles have a default setting of "use it or lose it"

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The sound is just added in to indicate "this will feel good," I'm fairly sure

10 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

The table on the right is a chiro table. Not all chiros are quacks, but the ones that aren't tend to do more PT than dogma

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's stretching back muscles, but looks a bit advanced for anyone not doing it regularly.

10 months ago | Likes 92 Dislikes 1

Especially for someone who's never done those positions before. Great way to injure yourself by trying to replicate something you saw in a video with no supervision.

10 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

to be fair you can do practically anything wrong enough to badly hurt yourself or die. its why taking care of a baby is a whole thing.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do similar regularly but secondary arthritis in spine means doing it to that extent would injure me 😁

Thanks for the warning. I got married 5 months ago, 7 days before my 45th birthday; this evening I picked her up for a second and threw out my back right as I was setting her down.
It is weird because I will be fine for a while, move the wrong way (or not move at all), and my back will spasm.
I started thinking that I would move my chair, make the GIF full screen, and try out everything, but I could make it worse, right?

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well if you don't know what the injury is 100% then any attempt to rectify can exasperate the issue further.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you have insurance, I highly suggest seeing a doc and, depending on severity/what they suggest, seeing a orthopedic specialist. I've had a couple bad lumbar and thoracic sprains and orthopedic PT helped a lot- and gave me the knowledge to limit further injuries. Actually, now that I think, I've also had a cervical sprain so I've sprained my entire fucking back.

I have the VA, so I will stick with ibuprofen, water, and motivation.
Hooah!

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Internet (and real life) certified person here! The first one is 100% correct, I do that stretch frequently with my pitchers/overhead hitters/swimmers.

The second one is a little wrong. The first exercise they show then ❌is actually a perfectly fine lumbar flexion counterbalance stretch. The second thing they show is a modified prone press up, it's also advanced. Prone on elbows is where most people feel comfortable starting, but it's a great way to help relax the lumbar muscles! 😊
