That is a a weird choice of something to be snarky about. Just freeze it in tupperware or whatever your preferred reusable method is. And if it keeps people from getting just takeout instead, guess what, they'r using less plastic even if they go with freezer bags. So it's a net win either way.
Plenty of cheeses freeze just fine, particularly if you're going to melt or cook with them. I freeze hard cheddars, feta, goat cheese, and shredded mozzarella, and they all taste just like fresh when cooked.
Deli meats freeze just fine. For literally years I'll buy deli meat, and as soon as I get home put single servings in sandwich bags, then put those in a gallon freezer bag. If your freezer holds 0F or less, will last a very long time
Each time I see this I notice the instructions for the white chicken chili are actually the instructions from the beef stroganoff and I never say anything. I’m saying something. Please don’t put egg noodles in your chili (or do, I’m not your boss).
About the curry one, don't put the miso paste in there, Miso is supposed to go after boiling when you're ready to serve, otherwise it will lose a lot of flavor and it's properties
I did the onion soup one recently and it was alright but pretty bland. It's a good base but I recommend looking at more spices or add ins to give it more flavor. Still it was easy and pretty good on its own.
Anyone else read the text in a dump yesterday about a couple freezer meal prepping $500 worth of bulk meat while drunk and forgetting to label anything?
I made the French onion one at the top this weekend. Good onion flavor, the sour cream turns into small chunks and adds good flavor as well. Only three ingredients so I couldn't mess it up.
My experience as well. What can be dicey is re-heating, I do it my mom's way: dump in metal sieve, heat by steam (so by hanging it in a pot with some boiling water in the bottom, only needs to be enough to not boil dry, no full pot). Much better than microwaving.

Who freezes sour cream?
malkavian3str
A that reads perfectly rancid, like why would you slow cook steak, without even searing. Likewise the onions.

Yay… more unnecessary uses for plastic!

Cheese can freeze as long as you just use it in cooking later, done this most of my life
originfoomanchu1
This is just preparing in advance doesn't really save you any time or help if you change your mind 3 days later on what you want to cook
MissSiesta
8 hours cooking??? I'm never at home during the day for 8 hours 😬
ThrowingSchadenfreude
They're recipes for a slow cooker (like a Crock-Pot), so you'd dump the ingredients in before leaving for work & let it cook all day.

This is the second thing I favorited around 10 years ago. Haven't looked at it since but I shall favorite it again
RadioScotty
Potatoes, rice, and pasta will freeze well if you have a vacuum sealer. You can also boil it in the sealed bag.

That's a new one for me. Wanted to look at it closer when I'm not having to drive. Saw it during a brief stop.

Most of these "mommy blog" recipes are on the bland side. Not terrible bases, if wildly inauthentic, but definitely need modification.

In my experience, cooked parboiled rice freezes just fine

Could you not freeze the uncooked rice with it and then cook it with everything?
