Ok, so I've been feeling kinda lousy the last couple days and I needed some comfort food. My go-to since I was but a wee crotch-spawn was this satisfying dish. Baked Spaghetti is a very cheap meal, kids love it, and it hits all those Starchy/Cheesey/Crunchy/Easy-to-chew/Flavorful-but-not-Overpowering kinda things you might want from time to time. Whole thing takes less than an hour to cook.

Find a casserole dish or large bowl that can handle an oven, then get yourself some:

Spaghetti
American Cheese
Butter
Italian style Bread Crumbs.

You'll wanna boil plenty of spaghetti, at least a standard box of it. If it's too much, keep it for leftovers, and if it's not enough, just make more.

Drain your water when the pasta's ready, and preheat your oven to 350f. Make sure the rack is in the middle.

Since our big casserole dish has gone missing, I just used 2 good stoneware bowls. Now, you're gonna want to layer your ingredients into the bowl.

1st: Spaghetti.

2nd: Butter.

3rd: Breadcrumbs.

4th: Cheese.
(Tear into strips and lay in a checkerboard kinda pattern for maximum coverage, while allowing some other ingredients to be exposed to air)

Layer everything on again for a second time, till you fill the bowl.

By now, your oven is probably up to temperature. Go ahead and start baking. Come back in 35 minutes.

And, DONE. Remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes. Use a big spoon to scoop down to the bottom and get yourself a good helping.

Easy comfort food.

No movie tonight. Reading a Graphic Novel about Serial Killers instead.

I did enjoy it. I've got multiple meals of it, so dinner for the next few days is taken care of. I just found out my best friend is moving to another state, over 4 hours away. It's hard to argue with the massive pay increase that's coming with that move and his new job, but damn. A man I call brother is leaving, and it sucks.

Because it's easily made, it tastes good, and it's comfort food from when I was a kid.

Sounds good. I usually recommend people doctor stuff up to fit their personal taste. Post your results, and let us know how it went.

I am interested in some changes. What do you suggest? Cream and more cheese?

Many people suggest real cheese, and some seasonings. Doesn't quite taste the same, but hey; I'm curious how it turns out if someone tries it doing something a bit different.
