Hello,
If you were pinged, that means way back when my team was covering F1, you signed up for it. I will only use it once, do not fret.
That team sadly disbanded due to creative differences with our parent podcast, but I will start something new for the 2025 season.
Because you all believed when I tried the first time, I thought you might be up for it again.
It will not be on imgur because the platform makes a couple of things I want to try with the writing hard, so to substack I went.

Since we last met, I have learned a lot about data analysis for creating graphics and have been doing so for the subscribers of a podcast I am part of (in Portuguese).
But I still miss writing, so I am going to do it for the entire 2025 season, plus many historical things I like researching and talking about. The first one, the history of one of the old champions, is already hot in the oven, almost ready to roll out.

Plus, we are getting huge regulation changes for 2026 and those will be fun to learn and discuss and then see come to reality.

A few of the alpha readers I shared the prototype post with went ahead and bought paid subscriptions before asking about it. So now have to produce a bit of special paid content.

I will happily comp any imgur friend on a paid subscription. Just let me know if you want that deal, if are not keen on doing it, if you rather wait to see if it actually happens, if you are pressed for money.
Times are tough and I doing this out of love, not as my job. It will be professionally done, with schedules and everything, but it is not to make money, just to share the love I have with people who feel the same way.

The best response I got on the prototype so far was this: "I really enjoyed the article. I appreciated your objectivity towards Max. He's pretty much hated by everyone that isn't Dutch, but one cannot deny the talent he possesses. It was one hell of a drive."
I took it as an enormous compliment because that alpha reader nailed what I am striving for. Sane, critical, unbiased analysis of Formula One, based on facts and numbers and data. There will be no believing the hype, no jumping on bandwagons, no spreading of insane rumours, just talking about what is actually there. And hopefully discussing it with people who disagree, who saw something I did not, who want a bit more explanation about one particular point, etc.
