They weren't wrong! That's a Sheaffer Imperial fountain pen. I've found a couple on eBay that only needed a good cleaning to get them working again, and they write great.

lol my house from 1964 is falling apart, I'd love to see a pen the same age actually write something. Statistically I guess there must me a few.

haha write. my mom and dad can hardly read. the boomers in our SEA generation mostly dropped out of school. it's a miracle they figured out how to use smartphones. though my mom keeps getting her ass banned on ZUCC. kek.

Funnily enough, that's about how much this pen goes for now. It's a Sheaffer Imperial VIII. I can find a few listings for $140-$160 for restored ones.

I got a similar 1960s style modern fountain pen, a Pilot E95s, for about $100. Just found that interesting! It’s not the one pictured but it’s one of my favs that I own.

Correction *~$140. It also has a 14kt nib like the one advertised.
