It's kind of subtle and hard to see with the video compression, but I've tried to make the fog in Fist of the Forgotten look more volumetric and textured. With a shader, I've projected a Perlin noise texture at a couple depths to give the illusion of volumetric fog (but without the cost so the game can run fast on low end hardware). Also added some particles to give a better sense of motion and more atmosphere.

definitely an improvement visually for the atmosphere IMO, but still needs some adjusting. possibly slow down the phase-in/out cycle? there a way to do more layers (maybe just one) of it, but deeper in space?

The compression kind of ruins it, so it's hard to see the cloud noise textures. I don't want to go too crazy for performance reasons. Curious what you think if you check out the demo so you can see it without the compression.
