Nope. I just spent over an hour writing a letter about misconduct. Sent it to the Governor of the State, Office of Tourism, the biggest newspaper in the state, and the police dept. Wrote another letter and sent it to a place of business informing them we will not be back.
A lot of times I'll type a whole email response to someone at work who was being an idiot in the email chain, then delete it rather than send it. Our first reaction often isn't the most professional one.
I usually stop writing thinking "you know what, they're not even worth it", and delete. And then I put the user on ignore. Now this person has vanished from my existence and both worlds, mine and theirs, are better off without one another. :-)
Honestly, about 99% of the time. Doesn't matter where the message is going. Comment on someone's post, my own post, YouTube comment, TikTok comment. I don't wanna upset someone, or have to argue with someone. It's not worth it.
@OP are you ok ok? I mean you say you are not but what level are we at because your latest posts make me fear it may be very serious right now? Remember to reach out to get help when sorrow is becoming overwhelming ok?
That quote pretty much sums up my life currently. But sounds like just from comments and posts that maybe you are having a rougher time than me? What’s the 2-3 top issues? If I can help with any of the top three I will from far away! Hugs to you!
Utterly disappointed that there isn't zero comments on this. This was a golden opportunity and you missed it. This comment doesn't count as there are already comments. Unless you all delete your comments and now I look crazy.
In my experience, writing the message is sometimes more important than sending the message. You have something you need to get out of you, but you recognize that maybe it's something others don't need to take in. It can be cathartic to write a message and then delete it.
I talk to myself b/c I don't have enough people to talk to about certain things. Essentially serves the same function and I can do it while doing chores. I'm also a good listener so that helps.
For me, I start writing because I do care. Then I think someone else has probably said it already, and I can't be arsed responding to thr fall out, so I just hit next and move on.

It's usually "You know what *I* don't even care" but yes. I start 3x the comments that I send.

A solid third of my posts here get typed, then not sent.

Not nearly enough times. But I'm getting better.

I wish more people had this happen to them. So many worthless comments. Including this one.

No but I have stopped half way through a message and decided I don't really care before deleting.

My reason is usually "I don't want to deal with the reactions to this". Usually when someone's being a dumbass on the internet about something.

Thank you. And no I’m not okay. I heard this quote once “I’m not okay but I’m fine” and it’s basically my life quote .

YUP, I've also typed messages and deleted them before I hit the send button, because I'm reaonably sure I'd have gotten fired.

Nah. It's that, on the contrary, I don't care.

Quirrel from Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality taught me that it is easier than many think to just let go of a fight, and give up.

They had this thing back in the day called diaries. Worked really well for lots of folks.

I need to start doing that again. It helped with my mental state and my therapy in general.
