Most people aren't watching this sort of thing. They're wrapped up in their lives, their kids, their jobs, and daily bullshit, and to the extent that any information pierces their bubble it's in the smallest and most superficial quantities.

Regarding your last line: I think there is a disconnect at the top, at the rich folk running the DNC. Ok, they do not actually actively want to destroy the country, but if there are primaries before 2028, and Mamdani-AOC is doing really really well, all signs show that ticket will crush Trump (lets assume he will run for a 3rd term), I would not be surprised if the DNC tries to sabotage Mamdani-AOC in favor of Hillary 2028. They have done it in the past, because they do not want a 'socialist'.

Most I can suggest is starting a scaled-up version of 'neighborhood watch'. See if you can get in contact with others who are vulnerable or have vulnerable loved ones, and keep each other up to date on suspicious people and kidnapping squads and whatnot being spotted nearby. They have to have SOME sort of system for how they target people in an area, if you can get ahead of that you'll have a better chance of keeping safe.
