I know I could just cancel my Prime, but are there ways I can do more? What are the loss leaders at Amazon? What services do they provide that actually lose them money? The most obvious idea is make small purchases with the quickest delivery possible.
Maybe buy low margin items with free shipping and then return them? Target heavy or oddly shaped items. I'm open to ideas.

Target a warehouse. Get the workers to unionize. Amazon shuts down that warehouse and runs away.
You win.

Ironically, they tend to lose money on book sales.

If you want to return items, make sure the seller is Amazon and not some small business, otherwise it's not Amazon you are hurting.

Buy local.
Grow a garden.
Brew wine and beer.
Stop buying things just for the dopamine rush.
When you do absolutely have to buy something see if like you can get it used.

Best way is to buy locally instead, then they wont get profits nor sale figures

Is still a strike going on with them? I can't find anything on the web about it.
If there's no strike, all you can do is the same thing the rest of us can do; give Amazon as little of your money as you can manage. Sometimes you still have to use them (especially if you have a handicap or are poor.)
If there IS a strike, well, then that may change things.

The Institute for Local Self-Reliance: https://ilsr.org/ is a great resource for breaking the chains and even has some good advice (and other articles/research) regarding Amazon: https://ilsr.org/independent-business/amazon/

I am also tracking ways to reduce dependence on Amazon. I've been Amazon free for about 3 years and I can attest it is not easy. My attempts to use ebay as an alternative backfired, there are people on eBay who just fulfill your orders using Amazon. I need a lot of niche items that I used to grab from Amazon and now I am lost on where to find them.
Between Amazon and Google, idk which one is harder to circumvent and my anti google post had to be put on hold because I can't find alternatives. FML

Idk what your niche items are, but as someone who existed before Amazon existed I can tell you that we did just fine before.

Trying to lose them money on that scale won't do anything, they have enough revenue that they do that to themselves just to outcompete local competitors or even third parties selling on their platform. Better to just buy locally as much as possible.

I know I'm just one person, but if it makes me happy and it loses them money, who(except Amazon) is it hurting? I will still buy local and spend as little as possible with them.

I cancelled my Prime. Walmart and other store usually ships free over x amount of dollars. Prime Video sucks especially since they added ads.
They don't ship 2 day on most things any longer @OP - it says shipped prime but it's usually 3-5 days since they reduced use of UPS.
ComradeGreetingCard
I could and will just cancel if that is the best option. I agree that their services have declined or are not as good as advertised. If there is a way I can actively lose them money, that is better than canceling to me.

And that's my problem. In Germany they still deliver the next day, perhaps the one after that. And there are no real competitions left. Walmart flopped in Germany, singing like Mediamarkt and Saturn are the definition of fucked up costumer service...
I started to use temu more and more, but not for anything that uses electricity. It's really hard to boycott Amazon if you still want to or need to buy things. Fuck capitalism... but I still like things.

Union-busting, charter school-choice champions, Walmart/Sam's Club is not a good alternative either with The Walton family being the richest in the world and shaping policy to their uses all over the world; the family have long supported the GOP while their employees don't make enough to live and have to access Food Stamps & other aid (tax payer benefit subsidies): https://civileats.com/2023/11/01/the-long-reach-of-the-walmart-walton-empire/

A large amount of Amazon's revenue comes from their web-hosting - AWS
ComradeGreetingCard
That's interesting. Thanks for the info!
Gindipple
Which you are supporting by using imgur LOL
HonHomes
It is very hard to avoid interaction with AWS, honestly. A metric fuckload of the internet is hosted by them

Yes, boycotts worked long ago before we moved to a global economy. Now nearly anything you buy or use is sourced from someone or something you don't want to support. There are barely any products that are pure anymore.
