Carrier Command, on the Commodore Amiga, released in 1988 was a great blend of strategy and action. With cutting edge graphics, real-time vector renders, deep strategy and a variety of play elements and deployables, Carrier Command had a slight learning curve but could be mastered quickly with clean iconography and sensible tool layout. Flying Mantas over enemy islands is a rush. Deploy a Walrus to capture the islands and its resources took strategy, cunning and skill, while protecting your vast mothership. Carrier Command ranks as one of the most under-rated titles of the 80s on any platform.

Goddamn cheating AI could just sail thier carrier right onto islands and travel faster than a Manta. So amazingly satisfying to -finally- catch up to it while it was busy and fill it full of holes.

Yes! I played this in DOS 1.1 to exhaustion. Had to let the old pc run overnight in "timewarp" mode whilst the carrier proceeded to the next island. Great memories. Thanx for that 😁

Oh that is a game that I had totally forgot existed. Played it on PC back in my youth.

Elite still did it better. But +1
