Finished product, a hand-built 20U server cabinet.

This was the previous quarantine project, that needed an actual server rack instead of sitting on a shelf.

Mostly cable managed... dig that fan wall.

Working on the shell. I decided on a darker stain for the exposed insides - not sure it was worth the effort. Also, pocket screws!

Partially built shell sitting on top of the rack itself.

And another coat. This was probably coat number five. I think I did about 10 all told - once sanding back down to wood :(

Concealed hinges were intimidating, but so easy with this Kreg jig.

Like a glove!

Detail of cutout.

Door complete, stained, and finished - here I’m just shimming up where I want it.

And complete! Door was much easier to hang than I thought it was going to be. Not too shabby. Need a handle still.

I found a pretty cool metal mesh for the door. 19 plug PDU - should have no problems with power. Couldn’t resist some accent lighting.

Had a lot of fun with this one! All that’s left is to move it into the house and get the Supermicro (and my other gear) mounted inside.

Nice build. Always nice to see another Unraid build. Home-lab? Media server?

Awesome project, the door mesh is very nice indeed! Does the sound proofing help? I guess it still has to be somewhat open for ventilation?

Aw, man. I was hoping it was full of bees.
