Y'all say to delete your browser history...wouldn't it just be simpler to toss all your devices in a sink of water?

#5 I think that's "Horton Hears a Ho".

8 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

#1 I used to have this edition! The edges of the pages were gold. It was absolutely beautiful. I wish I still had it.

Looks like the right Grinch movie to me...

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#7 just the one right, actually. Party. That's the whole platform

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#1 I prefer the incomplete, abridged version. I like to pretend "Mostly Harmless" didn't happen.

This name is referenced in there...

#5 The Grinch Xxx parody

8 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Forgot how terrible acting in porn parodies is, lol

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Grinch grew 5 sizes that day.

#5 might be an oops if you put it on for the kids, and the rest of your family after Christmas dinner.

Also, cute dogs and the fluffy one has pretty eyes

#7 They didn't specify at what time I should party - I'm more of a late afternoon / early evening type of party person.

#5 I'm concerned because in the cannon of the story, she's a minor.

Janet says hi to your friend

#7 I'm exercising my right *not* to party.

Of course my cat will probably have other ideas. Let's see if I can make it to 3 am without her waking me up with her screaming.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#5 no, that’s the one. See it through.

And Another Thing kind of disappointed me but I've got to give the author credit for taking it on. At least when the HG Wells estate commissioned Stephen Baxter to make a sequel to The Time Machine they waited a century.

Fun fact: Eoin Colfer joined the Facebook group opposing the book and posted self-dafamation for months. He actually won over a lot of the angry nerds in the process.

#7 Sigh. I can't believe I have to repeat this again: the Beastie boys did not fight for your right to party.

They merely encouraged you to do so

#8 You're going to be dead. Why do you give a s*** if someone sees your browser history?

#1 In our house we refer to it as "The Good Book". The Guide changed my life. I started reading it when I was maybe 8 years old, didn't understand a lick of it. I've read it again and again since. I'll be 42 in a couple of weeks. Hopefully this is my year.

#1 Had that same edition since the 90's.

8 months ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 0

I have "a trilogy in four parts" and Mostly Harmless as a paperback

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had a copy, not fancy, but a copy no less, in high school. I let someone borrow it and the fuck never returned it

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh no

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Includes the word "Shrubbery" ?1

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Note that the 'More Than Complete' version doesn't include Mostly Harmless, while the 'Ultimate' version does have it.

8 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This came out before Mostly Harmless. I have a copy too. I think I bought it in 1990. Maybe 1991.

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have my original copy from the 90s too but it’s so worn out I keep it in a box - I love the cover on yours!

8 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I have that edition too! The outside looks great, but the pages are beginning to yellow.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. My individual copies all fell apart, but I still have that one. It almost seems redundant to re-read it since I seem to have unintentionally memorized it in its entirety, but maybe it's time anyway.

8 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've been schlepping this old thing around since the '80's. My copy of Mostly Harmless sits separately on the shelf. I'm more outdated than I realize.

"This planet has—or rather had—a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much all of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy."

"And some said that even the trees had been a bad move, and that no one should ever have left the oceans."

But not really. See the computer that took 7 million years to deliver that answer was the precursor to the computer that gave the real answer. EARTH.

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

UM ACHTUALLY, *pushes glasses further up nose* That computer was infected by the discarded professions of the Golgafrinchans, like phone sanitizers, hairdressers, and marketers. They killed off the actual components of the planet.

SO, the real answer to the question was never calculated.

Well I’m guess you’re right as I’m often confused. Thank you for clarifying

#1 Hey, I have the same copy. (Including DNA's signature, which I got at a reading a few days after his 42nd birthday...)

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s amazing

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Still fond memories. He was reading from "Last Chance to See" that day. The audience sang Happy Birthday... The book is one of the 10 things I would save if our house were on fire. And this number includes my family.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aw man what a cool memory. I have my original paperback copy my hubs gave me a bazillion years ago in my keepsake box cause it’s falling apart but I can’t get rid of it. Now I gotta move it to the fire safe cause that’s a good idea lol

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a good idea. You could also search for a bookbinder craftsperson to restore it. Might match the sentimental value. Not sure if anyone like this exists somewhere in your vicinity.
