It’s a pain in the ass but those baseboard covers can be removed (cleaned) and bent back into shape so the crud doesn’t accumulate

Or add a couple screws higher up to keep it tight, after it’s clean of course.

So the front cover should come off fairly easy (feels like you’re breaking it but you’re not) then you should have access. I’ll find video
