Somehow yes and then i get annoyed at getting notified whenever butffucker3000 has posted some shit again.
Warandpeas is probably the only one i won't unfollow, for some reason. Not that i ever clicked on one of those notifications, but some primal part in me wants to keep it, like a bookmark or treasure. As if i'm afraid to lose them.

I don't know how following interacts with ignored tags, but if it does so gracefully you should be safe to use your main account and not risk driving away those who want nothing to do with politics.

I use the follow function. I enjoy your daily photos, they are great. Even if you started posting some political I would still follow.

do filters work with notifications from followed users? Couldn't find anything about it...

Pretty sure they are two separate systems. If you follow, you get notified regardless of what the subject actually was. Filters/blocks just keeps you from seeing something randomly as you manually go through the posts.

The follow mostly overrides any filters. I checked for this over a period of a few weeks not too long ago, and sometimes the following account would get notified despite their filter, sometimes it wouldn't. Eventually, most posts got through, though, so it's likely that people who follow you will get notified despite any filters. You might lose some followers as a result, so if you want to avoid that, you should probably make a separate account. Or just go the "meh, deal with it!" route. :D

But, this is a place for escapism, to waste time looking at memes and nice stuff. so I don't know, maybe I ruined it for people...

Yup, that's exactly the quandary. I know that many people started following my "Oodles" posts for the escapism and distraction, so I do feel bad about dropping the latest political horror straight past their filters into their feeds... I'm sure some people unfollowed me because of it, but I figure some things are just too important.
