Anyone else think the results don’t make sense?

The election results aren’t making sense to me. So many people vocalized their dislike of Trump and can provide a list of reasons “anyone but Trump” should be our next President. I genuinely don’t believe our country is this messed up. So it begs the question: did someone mess with our election? (Another country?) Hear me out … I sat there last night watching the polls. Texas went Blue. PA and Michigan went blue. NM was even blue. Trump did not have all the swing states. Then… they went red…. Yes I may be paranoid, but we were warned about other countries ahead of the election… and of the two candidates, one no longer fits the criteria of someone that can hold a security clearance. The risk of him accepting deals for personal gain seems high. I just don’t see this country having that many Trump supporters…. Maybe someone can provide a different perspective to help me better understand…?

First of all, voting isn't logical, it's emotional. All those reasons don't matter if the voters don't FEEL IT.

Second, the US electorate have been screaming for radical change for 16 years, and no one is offering it except Trump.

The system doesn't work for 99% of people and hasn't for a long time and at this point many of them will take ANY change as long as it's not the same broken system that's keeping them down, even fascism.

That's how fascism has always come to power.

Imgur (and sites like Reddit, Tumblr, etc.) is a far-left echo chamber and not representative of the political views of the majority of Americans (or even the majority of liberals for that matter). Turns out when you ban (or downvote into oblivion) any viewpoints that deviate from the accepted far-left narrative, you get a distorted view of reality.

We are soooo fucked. I just can't even, even.

Early voting results in states that can process them ahead of the election are added as soon as the polls close and generally favor Democrats and older voters (who went for the Democrat for once, last I looked). So they made the state blue before votes started getting counted, which are counted in red rural counties fastest, and that makes the state red again. Then you hope slower urban counties are blue enough to flip it back, which they weren't.

Ah ok this makes sense. But I still question the results.

Sadly I think it adds up after looking at it in hindsight. Yes there was meddling, but it was misinformation and manipulation of the dim witted.

Congrats, you've entered trump delusion territory! We have legal slavery, the largest slave population of any nation and our country was founded and operated on white supremacy, so no, it's not that weird.

you confused the vocal minority in your sphere of people as the general public

Russia was caught paying influencers, paying people to admit to things that never happened, they called in bomb threats to polling places from russia and they were caught directing elon to give them full promotion on twitter for propaganda. Google that shit.

Not to mention DeJoy is a Trump stoogie. Wowsers, you know the guy in charge of the USPS that was IN CHARGE OF THINGS LIKE MAIL-IN BALLOTS??? You cannot fucking tell me for a second that more than just the firebombing of ballot boxes didn't happened. There was a picture of a USPS truck sporting a Trump sticker, which is beyond illegal. How many Trumpers in the USPS may have secretly tampered with shit, especially when they know mail-ins fucked them last time?

Boy I hope our intel community was tracking and has proof.

They said they set up a tip line. Even tho they already had everything they needed and I just heard they purposefully reduced the number of active machines making lines for hours.

Conspiracy Theories are a waste of your little grey matter. Harris was successful in attracting college educated women of the ages of 21-40, but struggled to bring in a large male cohort to vote. The working class unilaterally rejected her. And perhaps a touch of ignorance and inability to convey that Biden/Harris have been the most pro-union in decades. She had the disadvantage of coming off of an unpopular incumbency. Her sex, ethnicity, voice and demeanor — makes her a hard 'sell'.

70% of voters do not vote based upon any real semblance of political knowledge, but rather judge rather superficially based on stupid things like height, weight, is the candidate married with kids, is he white. Now, while Obama certainly won despite one of those little factors, he was, however, a complete dynamo on the stage. Harris was pretty good. Great even, but again, lots of Men tuned out. Probably 15 million or so. Then there's the Gaza protest vote.

POC vote did not go her way. Muslims disliked her. Black men disliked her (again, misogyny.) The media covered Trump so often it normalized his profoundly abhorrent existence, the justice department's pursuit of justice gave Trump plenty of screen time for free, which left the 60% of Americans that can barely read at a 6th grade level, think. "Oh, shit they really are persecuting the guy." As I've said before Trump brings in more or less the same vote. He is consistent. His power base is loyal.

Then the assassination attempts. Twice. And then laypeople thought, 'Those dirty democrats can't get their candidate in fairly' Did they bother to learn that those two people were their own? Probably not. These aren't people accustomed to critical thinking. Meanwhile. Democrats were mislead by faulty polls. If people ask, are you voting for Trump? Or Harris? There are many people who would rather lie and say Harris, but really go for Trump because of many reasons, but mostly misogyny.

Then the Dems think. Oh, shit this campaign is working, lets keep running Abortion ads that only really matter to girls of reproductive age and no one else. And mostly only those ads. They should've focused on the economy. First and foremost. It is the #1 issues that focus groups consistently polled in trusting Trump more than Harris. Inflation was bad. It'll be worse soon, but unfortunately the interventions happened a touch too late. Then the Joe Rogan podcast covered Trump, and that was it.

Why lie? Don't want to be cancelled for voting for the undefendable.

They make perfect sense, really. People talked a lot of shit, but didn't do the most important shit...

10 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

I think it's more likely those that talked did the thing, but their talking didn't resonate with the masses.

Those doing the talking are always a minority of the whole.

Darn it. Well said.

Thankfully, we all know Project 2025 totally wasn't part of the Trump agenda...shit...

As someone who basically knew weeks ago: The results were kind of obvious last month. The last few weeks didn't help them at all, either.

First: Political surveys will always, ALWAYS be biased toward one side based on where they're doing them, how demographics are being treated by the survey, etc. Consider with me: Surveying done in and around the metro area of a large-ish city in an otherwise rural state, outside of a college campus. Republicans who largely have fallen out of trust of 1/

institutions of higher education because there's a lot of left leaning bias in them, young men who represent as little as 5-35% on any given college campus, in a major population zone that's already going to skew left compared to the rest of the state is going to return necessarily off information and should only be used as a guideline, not a sure thing.

Second: Someone else pointed it out but social media in general skews left as well. In the last few months, I've had people downvote or 2/

start arguments for generally pro left sentiments about how the campaign has been flawed and how it's not reaching core demographics or factual news stories about how some talking points of the right have some (twisted) merits. Upvotes are a popularity contest of what people like, not what's accurate or factual for the greater population, browsing 'rising' or the front page is going to get you popular on the site sentiments, not accurate sentiments.

Thirdly: This campaign was a dumpster fire3/

Sad to say it, but unfortunately 'Well as least I'm not Trump' isn't a point that's going to motivate non-party voters. Add in the whole 'lol Trump is in a garbage truck where he belongs' or 'lol, soon all he'll be able to do is work as McDonalds' that causes some splash damage insults to, oh, the core Dem demographic of the working class and statistically minorities by treating their jobs like it's something to laugh at and of course the base doesn't show up either.

Fourth and most 4/

controversially: For the last 12 years, the left has had a minority issue. Namely to say that it's largely favored minority interests. And there's nothing wrong with that in theory. Giving attention to those problems is good. Great, even. Fantastic. In practice? How have they been treating the majority? Men's issues aren't just being ignored, they're largely being mocked and pushed aside, because obviously if women are struggling it must be specifically the fault of men who have no real 5/

problems to speak of. Clearly. Men bringing up issues are all incels, all MRAs, all speaking far right dog whistles about how it'd be cool if they addressed how men are being failed by the education system. How male victims of sexual assault don't even legally count as rape in this country (they really don't, look it up). How men commit so much suicide. The Harris campaign didn't reach out to young men until weeks ago, and when they did it wasn't to talk about their issues, it was 6/

Imgur and a fuckton of platforms online are left leaning and any sort of Trump support is quickly shut down. That's why you see a lot of fuck Trump statements constantly and are applauded for it. But as soon as you step into the real world you see he's a lot more popular than his opponent. Harris in particular, people dislike even more than bad orange man.

I guess I had no idea how disconnected tge two truly are.

bingo, go read some Youtube comment sections (of shit you don't normally go to) to get a taste of what it's really like out there.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Okay… help me out here… I’m slowly navigating what seems to be new territory for me. Are you saying the country really had a lot of people that think like trump….? Racists, sexists, bigots, etc etc. have I been looking at this country through rose colored glasses?

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

not sure if you're fuckin with me or not, but i'll take it at genuine face value. yeah, you'd be surprised if your possibly in a bubble (you may not even know you are if you live in a major metro area or are west coast/east coastal near major metro areas). being an "online gamer" of genres populated by a broad male swath of america made me very worried for the whole election cycle.
