As an emacs user, HOW HAVE I NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE?

Emacs is a free, well-known professional text editor often used by programmers. It's characterized by heavy use of modifier keys (especially the control key). This key is *very* small on laptops (and hard to reach on most keyboards). There are programs out there to 'remap' keys (I've used Karabiner for some time), but for a simple task such as what *I* needed, this is *perfect*.

I should note that emacs is not made for Mac OS X, it is free software. It's available on Windows, Linux, and Mac.

Those who know of other operating systems likely know what emacs is already :) But yes, literally every OS I've ever heard of has an emacs.
