Quite possibly. I have popped in a few song titles here and there. See if you can spot them.

So here it is. My 06 BMW M5 with the S85 V10. I'm doing this by myself because what are friends for.

Getting started. Removing the rear cowling as well as removing the air filter boxes.

I'm running AFE Pro Dry high flow filters.

Other side removed and the coolant reservoir set aside.

Here's a close up of what we're working on. Need to use a 1/4 socket (in 1/4 drive) to loosen these hose clamps holding the intake plenum to the throttle bodies. 10 in all.

Looking towards the back. See those little vertical hash marks on the plenum? Those show you where the screw points are.

Drivers side removed and looking at the underside of the intake plenum.

Throttle bodies on bank 2. Cylinders 6 through 10.

Passenger side plenum removed.

The parts removed thus far.

The heart of it all.

Looking into the throttle bodies.

With the throttle blades open.

Not too much of a sludge factory.

Delivering the goods and getting things laid out.

Coils, spark plugs and fuel injectors laid out.

New spark plug next to the old one. These old plugs are still serviceable and show a clean burn in the combustion chamber. Really happy seeing that.

New spark plug down in a hole (the plug well). Number 1 cylinder.

Torque spec for the spark plugs.

Getting to the fuel injectors.

Fuel rail pulled back.

Cleaned up the throttle bodies.

Brand new Bosch fuel injector.

For comparison. So the reason I'm replacing these is because these injectors can get stuck open when the get old. This causes the fuel to just dump into the cylinder uncontrollably. This can, and usually does, cause the engine to hydrolock. The injectors are $40 each new. A used S85 is between 6 to 10 thousand dollars used. You can do the math.

Lubed up and ready for insertion.
The two bolts that hold the fuel rail in place.
Reinstalling the fuel injector connectors... Nice and slow.

Going back together in due time.
First start. Great success! I can't wait to put my big foot down! Thanks for checking this out. Hope it was reasonably interesting.

Next, VANIS solenoids and rod bearings? Great job, check Nathan’s BMW Workshop on YT, he’s just been working on S85

My goal is to do the rod bearings at around 80k miles. I had an oil sample done at 73k and it came back clean.
