Are they easy to care for? I have a 10 gallon tank that's going to be fishless eventually, thinking of moving from fish.

Easy yes. You can put one inside a 10g but you will have to upgrade to a 20g. You don't need a pump or heater. Bubbler is a good idea too.

Also they eat live earthworms. No gravel in the aquarium otherwise they'll eat it and die. Sand is ok though
