This is Ransom-ware, it is no joke. Locks your files and demands you to pay ransom or risk never getting your files back. I heard companies paying thousands of dollars to get their files back. Back up your files, don't be stupid. This picture is of my grandpas computer's screen. He got hacked too. They want $500 for his files.

Also make sure your backups are separate from the computer. The new versions of this software will encrypt everything, even network drives.

The shitty thing is, if you don't catch it quickly, even with auto-backup, you overwriting the original files with the encrypted versions.

Dunno why this was downvoted. The new versions of crypto/ransomware won't even let you boot into safe mode. It just restart loops.
