My backup Secret Santa just came in CLUTCH.
This was my first year doing imgur secret santa (or any type of internet secret santa, for that matter). I told my family/friends we should forego gift exchanging - all things considered, that money could be better spent on necessities or donations. So I put all my gifting energy and excitement into imgur SS and was bummed when I never received anything.
I was then told I could request a backup gifter, and figured why not. I'm so glad I did, because my backup santa picked out such great gifts for me. Craft wire, which can be used for wire wrapping crystals, a packet of chain/jump rings/clasps/tweezers, and a hedge witches cook book. If I'm honest, I'm most excited about the cookbook (I'll probably post here once I try my first recipe from the book).
Now I keep thinking about the type of person who signs up to be a backup gifter. It's such a kind and selfless thing to do. The type of thing that most people would never think to do, and the gifter themselves might think isn't such a big deal...but it really can be for the giftee. Now I'm feeling inspired to become a backup santa myself next year. ANYWAYS, enough with the sappy shit.
Cheers @CMWildEyes , you did a great job picking these out. I hope your year is full of blessings, and hopefully some similar selfless deeds, but with you on the receiving end.

Of course, cat tax. Fifi was quick to claim the bag as her own.

Glad you like the gifts and can put them to good use! Appreciate the kind words as well. I always sign up as a backup to make things right

Damn what a bummer. I understand it's not required but I was honestly most sad about not hearing from my giftee. I hope u try again next yr
