Jupiter. The cloud layer was thin but hazy.

Can’t recall which star…it was very bright so point and click’d it. Might be Betelgeuse as I shot the big boy for sure, but was testing the auto astrolock function a number of times and lost track.

Mars

This was an ooops shot before the sun fully set but came out kinda okay in way. There’s a lot to learn! Can’t wait to get it outside the city on a clear night!!

Poops, no photo target info transferred to iPhoto. Boo. Hiss. But now I know to save the pics one by one and add the target info as I go.

That’s lovely, I only have a pair of binocs, but looking at Andromeda really makes me feel how incomprehensibly large the universe is. I’m following in case you post more space stuff

try getting an equatorial mount for it so you can take super long exposures without smearing or streaking
PaddyPatrick
the auto track helps take care of that. it self aligns and locks on target.

I much prefer using an equatorial mount with a simple star tracking motor. Every time I use an auto-tracker I get bored within an hour

Maybe I’m calling it the wrong thing. Its base is an equatorial motorized base and it auto tracks once you lock it onto a target. Can do long exposures and up to 999 pics stacked.

I was looking at photos online, it doesn't look like an equatorial mount, unless i was looking at the wrong one, looks like an Alt-Az. And sorry if my comment seemed dismissive at first, that totally wasn't my intention, and rereading it i can definitely see it being read that way.
