"A beaver couple. They've taken on a huge home renovation project." Art (stereotype) imitates life. Life imitates natural art.

"He's a kindergarten teacher, and he makes 30k dollars a year, and she sells soaps on etsy, and they're looking for a fix-me-upper for 5 million dollars..."

One of them has to be a stay-at-home astronaut to afford that kind of place.

Yep, they are hardwired to HATE the sound of running water.

Anyone know what they eat all winter? Or do they hibernate?

6 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Surprised that the dam is warmer than the surrounding area. Sure no wind chill, but damn that is impressively warm.

I think the lodge is just well insulated and the beavers produce their own heat. Like an igloo or tent.

Interesting. I didn't think about beavers being their own Lil heaters. But I can imagine that is it.

Where do they put their poop in the winter

6 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They still have access to the water and spend time swimming to and from their food stores

Oh, huh. So they store sticks and stuff? I was surprised to find out beavers eat wood. I thought they just used it to build their various structures

Is it ethical yet to have a pet beaver?

6 days ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

As much as I adore beavers, even a ‘tame’ beaver makes a terrible house pet. They’ll gnaw on door frames and try to build damns in your hallway.

I suppose, if you have running water and a properly sized meadow in your apartment...

I've heard many women mention they have a beaver. But it sounds like some prefer them shaved?

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

No wildlife should be kept as pets. I have seen beaver videos (no, not that kind!) from sanctuaries and they are dam cute and crafty animals and will get very destructive. Also their teeth grow and have to be used all time so it's their instinct to gnaw on stuff all dam day.

He sharpens pickets for Beatrix Potter style cottage gardens, and she cleans bark for table centerpieces, their budget is 10,000 woodland shillings.

The fact that they all went there confirms my belief that nice people are freaks in the sheets.
