In fairness, that suggests a problem with the EVSE they have plugged into the car rather than the car itself. It is the path to ground and responsible for monitoring current leakage. The vehicle is floating and does not have a ground reference of it's own.

There was a Twitter guy a couple years back, before Musk went full-on apeshit, who bought a Model X out of genuine curiosity and passion for innovation. Watching his enthusiasm deflate over the course of a few weeks driving that thing, and his increasingly frustrated descriptions of its shortcomings, was one my very few favorite Old Twitter memories.
